Amazing Brains
Wednesday 5th September 2018
Cost per Child: € 10.00
The first year of secondary school is crucial to enabling students to develop both the mindset and
study habits to succeed at school. If those habits can be embedded at this early stage then the
journey through second level education can be smoother and much more rewarding.
Blast Off is an upbeat, interactive and fun programme that has been designed to captivate,
motivate and educate young people about their brain and learning. It aims to create a success-
oriented mindset amongst students, boost academic performance and foster a positive, lifelong
attitude to learning.

Detention/Discipline Sheet
Student detention time:
Thursday 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm.
A copy for your information is available.
Conditions of Detention
There is a Discipline Sheet attached to each students School Journal. The Discipline Sheet operates on the bases that each student has 3 points. The aim is that each student retains these 3 points. However, if a member of staff feel that a student on occasion is in breach of our Code of Behaviour/School Rules then the Discipline Sheet will be marked and 1 point deducted. Should the same or similar event occur on 3 occasions then the student will be placed on detention, having lost their 3 points. Discipline Sheets will be reviewed on a weekly basis by Year Heads. Parents will be notified that their child has been placed on detention.
When a student is in excess of 3 Discipline Sheets then their behavior will be reviewed by the Principal/Deputy Principal, and a meeting will be scheduled with the parents/guardian.
