The projects we are involved in are designed to be competitively cost effective, yet reflect the quality expected by the owners. Each director is closely involved in the day to day projec management, design and construction supervision of all of our projects.

Our primary business is the design of concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry building structures, as well as the design of associated roads, parking and infrastructural services.
L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd 's history dates back to its origins in Cape Town, where Liebenberg & Stander Consulting Engineers was founded as a partnership in 1954 in Cape Town. A Johannesburg office was opened in 1981, and this evolved into an independent company, Liebenberg & Stander Gauteng (Pty) Ltd in 1995. In 2005, the company's name was changed to L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd.
Background
L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd have been awarded numerous Diamond, Gold and Silver Arrows by Professional Management Review (PMR) for Structural and Civil Engineering between 2000 and 2019. These awards are based on opinion surveys of Property Developers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Contractors. Further awards include the 2005 SAPDA award, as a winner in the industrial developments category for the Fresenius Kabi head office, in Midrand, SAPOA awards for Morningside Shopping Center (2010) and Alice Lane and UTI in 2014.

Simon Griffiths Graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1999 with a BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering. Immediately after graduation he started his career with Murray and Roberts Cape as a Site Engineer. After a year with M&R in Cape Town he was transferred to the Middle East where he worked for M&R Middle East as a Site Engineer.
Upon returning to South Africa in 2001 he entered the Consulting industry with Africon Engineering International in Bloemfontein where he stayed briefly until joining Liebenberg and Stander in 2002, renamed L&S Consulting in December 2005. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2006 with a MEng in Structural Engineering. His field of expertise lies in the structural design of concrete and steel. In 2006 he was appointed as an Associate of L&S Consulting and on the 1st of March 2009 he became a Director of L&S Consulting.

Gianfranco Talocchino graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003 with a BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering. He continued his studies & obtained a GDE & MSc (Eng) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005.
He joined Bateman Engineered Technologies (BET) & was involved in the design of industrial structures. He started working for L&S Consulting in 2006. His experience is in concrete & structural steel design. In 2009 he was appointed as an Associate of L&S Consulting and in 2015 became a director.

In 2004 he joined Liebenberg & Stander, renamed L&S Consulting in December 2005. Kevin graduated with a MEng in Structural Engineering in 2005 from the University of the Witwatersrand, and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PDM) at the Wits Business School in 2006. In 2009 he was appointed as an Associate of L&S Consulting and in 2015 he became a Director.

He joined De Reuck and Associates in 2004 where he was involved in the design and site supervison of numerous civil infrastructure projects and residential/comercial township developments. He graduated from the University of Johanesburg in 2005 with a B-Tech Degree. He started working for L&S Consulting in 2006. His main fields of expertise are in civil infrastructure and township services for projects ranging from road upgrades for medium and large sized residential/commercial developments.He graduated from University of Pretoria in 2008 with a BSc Applied Science Hons Degree in Civil Engineering. In 2011 he registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist and was appointed as an Associate of L&S Consulting.

Christopher Bloem graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2011 with a BEng in Civil Engineering. In May 2008 he joined L&S Consulting as a junior engineer. In August 2010 he left L&S Consulting to backpack around Europe with his wife. In January 2011 he rejoined L&S Consulting and decided to continue his studies. He obtained a GDE in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013.
His experience is in conceptual planning and structural design of concrete & steel. On the 1st of March 2017 he was appointed as an Associate of L&S Consulting.
