INJAZ Bahrain Spotlight Under the kind patronage of HRH Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the “Waqf” Isa bin Salman Educational Charity, INJAZ Bahrain hosted the 10 th annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition. Held for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the event was attended by over 500 guests at the ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj, where the competition was held from 21 st to 24 th November, 2016. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on behalf of HRH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The competition saw 20 teams consisting of young Arab entrepreneurs from across 14 MENA countries competing to obtain the prestigious titles of “University Company of the Year” and “School Company of the Year”, as well as several other awards. The list of winners are mentioned under: The School Company of the Year - Roshena from the Kingdom of Bahrain. The University Company of the Year - Watad from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The University and High School Product of the Year awards were granted to Ecoouifia from Morocco and Wasila from Egypt respectively. The Social Impact award was granted to Grow from Algeria for the University category and Jedmer from Tunisia for the High School category. The 2016 FedEx Access Award went to Bellora from Oman. Citi Client Focus Award also went to Roshena from the Kingdom of Bahrain. The MBC Al Amal Best PSA of the Year Award was also won by Watad from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Speaking after the competition, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa said: “We are extremely proud of all the participating students from across the region for their hard work, dedication and creativity in adapting business concepts to real-life applications. Their efforts over the months have taken them a long way and they have demonstrated their capabilities in their presentations. We are especially proud that Bahrain was able to host the annual competition, for the first time, in its remarkable 10th anniversary. The INJAZ Al Arab’s Regional Company Program Competition has set a high bar for next year’s participants, and we are excited to see what the future holds for these prominent INJAZ students.” The chairman of INJAZ Bahrain, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, added: “It has been an incredible experience to see these young students present their ingenious products and business propositions. The Kingdom of Bahrain has excelled in hosting such a spectacular event for the region. When we realize that over 60% of the jobs these young leaders will be doing in the future don't even exist yet, you begin to understand the critical role INJAZ has in building opportunities. I believe that through INJAZ Bahrain, we have created a solid and valuable springboard that will equip young minds to take on the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow." INJAZ Bahrain Annual Appreciation Event

Under the kind patronage of HRH Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the “Waqf” Isa bin

Salman Educational Charity, INJAZ Bahrain hosted the 10th annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab

Entrepreneurs Competition. Held for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the event was attended

by over 500 guests at the ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj, where the competition was held from 21st to

24th November, 2016. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin

Hamad Al Khalifa, on behalf of HRH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The competition saw 20 teams consisting of young Arab entrepreneurs from across 14 MENA countries

competing to obtain the prestigious titles of “University Company of the Year” and “School

Company of the Year”, as well as several other awards. The list of winners are mentioned under:

The School Company of the Year - Roshena from the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The University Company of the Year - Watad from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“INJAZ Bahrain was and still is one of the first stations that has triggered my journey towards excellence and creativity due to its' interactive program offering and the strong impact it creates in fascinating and energizing youth. INJAZ Bahrain held its first Alumni association event, on the 7thof February 2017 with the aim to gather the

members and launch the association. During the networking event, INJAZ Bahrain COO, Ms. Hana Sarwani

welcomed the attendees and stated “In order for us to succeed as a nation, we need to create an

environment that is secure and full of opportunities. This will take forces such as yourself to change mind-

sets, develop ecosystems that promote entrepreneurship, innovation and a good work ethics.”

The event included several segments to introduce INJAZ Bahrain Alumni Association, where Mr. Abdulla Al

Ansari a member of the association board gave an inspirational speech sharing his journey with INJAZ

Bahrain. He mentioned: "Coming from different backgrounds and sharing best practices is what we can

benefit from each other's experiences. This is our vision of the future of this association and we believe that

the alumni input is the most important aspect as it will give us a chance to meet our ambitions and desires

through our association thanks to the continued support of INJAZ Bahrain."

Moreover, emphasizing on what the association revealed at the event; Ms. Dana Al Qassimi facilitated a

mini brainstorming workshop where all the attendees participated to come up with innovative and creative

ideas to develop and improve the mutual benefits between the association and its 1200+ active alumni

members.

INJAZ Bahrain Celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

INJAZ Bahrain celebrated Global Entrepreneurship

week in partnership with University of Bahrain. Global

Entrepreneurship Week is an international initiative that

introduces entrepreneurship to young people. The

event was held in the campus of the university for a

week where INJAZ Bahrain conducted inspirational

sessions for the students jointly with young Bahraini

entrepreneurs who hit the stage and spoke about their

personal lessons, insights and overall their business

success story. INJAZ Bahrain Alumni who also took part

in the event explained to the students the journey as a

real life entrepreneurs, how to start up a business and

the positive impact of our programs.

Furthermore students had the great opportunity to

network and receive guidance from the entrepreneurs

themselves and be briefed on extended learning

opportunities offered to university students through

INJAZ programs: Innovation Camp, Company,

Career Success, Head Start.

INJAZ Bahrain organized its schools and universities annual appreciation day, which took place on February 27 2017, at Bapco club in recognition of the on-going collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The event honored educators, Ministry of Education officials and school coordinators who are actively involved in the organization’s programs. In presence of H.H Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, INJAZ Bahrain board members , Private Schools Directorate and other VIP officials at the Ministry of Education. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participating school coordinators for their efforts and valuable contributions over the 2015-2016 academic year. Appreciation trophies were also awarded to the Best Schools and University for 2015-2016 and to the Ministry of Education for their lasting support in implementing INJAZ Bahrain programs. INJAZ Bahrain continues to enhance its' reach with the support of 650 volunteers who were instrumental in reaching over 17,500 students in 94 primary,40 intermediate, and 24 secondary, 3 technical government and 11 private schools, as well as 5 universities over the course of the fall semester 2016-2017. INJAZ Bahrain held its Annual Company Coordinators assembly

INJAZ Bahrain held its annual board companies' coordinators meeting on 19th January 2017. The meeting was hosted by Ithmaar Bank at Fraser Suites, Seef Area. The annual meeting is held to enhance the ongoing relationship between INJAZ Bahrain representatives and the company coordinators representing the valued board companies. The meeting was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain. The Executive Director thanked the coordinators for all the support they extend to INJAZ Bahrain particularly on the level of volunteers’ provision. She stated, “We are really grateful to the effort you put into the advancement of INJAZ Bahrain’s mission. Providing volunteers from your organization is not an easy task. We know how hard and challenging it is to encourage individuals to give in their time and full commitment to ensure successful implementation of our programs. You are our ambassadors in your organizations. Our board members are strong believers of our mission of empowering youth to own their economic success.”

The Primary Programs Focus

INJAZ Bahrain aims to benefit the highest number of students in the primary level in order to provide them with basic concepts related to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to reinforce business oriented youth through Our Nation, Ourselves and Our Families programs. Through visits to the primary schools we could determine the passion of the young students to participate in INJAZ Bahrain interactive programs, and to encourage them to thrive in a global economy and be active contributors to building the nation’s future. INJAZ Bahrain has reached out to more than 4,000 primary level students, in 380 classrooms, with the support of 387 volunteers of which 297 are educators and 90 are corporate volunteers over the course of the fall semester of this year.

INJAZ Bahrain and Tamkeen renewed collaboration

INJAZ Bahrain in partnership with Tamkeen, is offering secondary and university students a unique opportunity to develop a strong perception of entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy fundamentals. Both INJAZ Bahrain and Tamkeen are determined to help Bahrainis to realize the Vision 2030 development goals of our leaders which promises every Bahraini the chance to blossom to their fullest capacity. INJAZ Bahrain helps to give young Bahrainis a better perspective of planning career and life goals and works with them to strengthen their understanding of social and economic challenges by educating and empowering them to transform their future and economic success. The seven Tamkeen sponsored programmer are Company, Personal Finance, Career Success, It’s My Future, Be Entrepreneurial, Job Shadow and ICamp, which is integrated into schools and universities in 2016-2017 academic year is designed to reach more than 18,000 students over a five year period. These programs constitute a systematic package designed to prepare students for the job market as students recognize the importance of seeking careers that help them achieve success in their future and prepare for the labor market, where the student will be able to discover the potential trades and how to plan for the work and keep it.

Dr. Ebrahim Janahi, chief executive of Tamkeen, commented: "We aim through this partnership to prepare the youth to enter the labor market, and to provide them with the skills and tools that contribute to instill their entrepreneurial spirit, our belief in creating economic culture to the students to be able to identify their future, and contribute to promoting economic development in the Kingdom.”

New Program Head Start

INJAZ Bahrain introduced a new program "Head Start" to university students. The program equips and trains students to master the skills required to apply for a job, resume writing, interviewing and internship preparation. The program has reached 244 students in 4 universities with the support of 7 high caliber corporate volunteers with extended experience in the Human Resource profession.
