Proprietary Manufacturing ProcessLincoln Electric created and developed proprietary equipment to perfectthe manufacture of this innovative product. Lincoln’s superior inspectionprocess helps you improve your quality and efficiency.
Here’s how our manufacturing process gives you the most consistent,high-quality wire:• Proprietary techniques for inspecting incoming raw steel ensure thechemistry of each coil.
• Steel is graded according to chemical composition and matched tothe most appropriate finished product.
• Steel chemistries are held to extremely tight tolerances to ensureconsistency in mechanical properties and arc performance.
• Fluxes are inspected and monitored to ensure a consistent blend ofchemical elements.
• Moisture levels are monitored throughout processing, and lubricantsare carefully selected to provide the lowest moisture content.
All this results in high quality, consistency, and unparalleled performancefrom your Innershield® wire.

R A D I O G R A P H I C G U I D E L I N E SThe opacity of NR-203MP slag to x-ray is such that slag inclusions will normally appear lighter than the weld. Voids will normally appear darker than the weld. When using gamma-radiography, slag inclusions and voids will normally appear darker than the weld. Improved x-ray film readability usually can beobtained by slight over-exposure at an excitation potential consistent with good x-ray practice, but not over 240 KV. A naturally aged tensile specimen maytake months to achieve the specified properties. See AWS A5.29-05. The time required for the natural aging of weld deposits is dependent upon ambient conditions, weldment geometry, the metallurgical structureof the weld deposit and other factors.
NOTE: FEMA and AWS D1.8 structural steel seismic supplement test data can be found on this product at www.lincolnelectric.com.

STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FLUX-CORED (FCAW-G AND FCAW-S) ELECTRODES
Lincoln Electric flux-cored electrodes perform best whenkept dry and stored properly. Electrode should be useddirectly from the original, undamaged package, and whenstored in accordance to the conditions listed below.
When proper procedures are not followed, consumablesmay show signs of moisture. These include porosity, a roughbead surface or slag that is unusually difficult to remove.
The following minimum precautions should be taken tosafeguard the electrode after opening the original package:
1. It is recommended to use electrodes within one weekof opening the original package.
2. Open electrodes should not be exposed to dampmoisture conditions or extremes in temperature and/orhumidity where surface condensation can occur.
3. When not in use, electrodes should be placed in originalpackaging and sealed as best as possible.
4. If exposed to moisture conditions, discard any rustyelectrode.
5. For applications in which the weld metal hydrogen mustbe controlled (usually 8 mL or lower), or where shippingand storage conditions are not controlled or known, onlyhermetically sealed packaging is recommended.
6. After exposure, hydrogen levels can be reduced byconditioning the electrode. Electrodes may beconditioned at a temperature of 100ºC ± 14ºC (250ºF ±25ºF) for a period of 6 to 12 hours, cooled and thenstored in seal poly bags (4 mL minimum thickness) orequivalent. Electrode on plastic spools should not beheated at temperatures in excess of 65ºC (150ºF).

T E S T R E S U L T STest results for mechanical properties, deposit or electrode composition and diffusible hydrogen levels were obtained from a weld produced and tested according to prescribedstandards, and should not be assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including, but notlimited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature, weldment design and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm by qualification testing, or other appropri-ate means, the suitability of any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended application.
