InnocentLife:AFuturisticHarvestMoonisbasedonthesamegeneralphilosophyfoundinallHarvestMoongames.Yourgoalsarethreefold:tohelpyourVillage,torestoreafarmtoitsformergloryandfinallytobecomethebestpersonthatyoucanbe.Inthisgame,thereareelementsthatremindoneofthestoryofPinocchio.Yourcharacterisarobotwhocanbecomea'realperson'onlyifhelearnstofeelemotionsandtocareaboutlifeandallthatisonthisearth.Ashiscreatorand'father'willtellhim,he

needstolearnabout'thehumanheartandthevalueoflife'.

Yourcharacternotonlyisarobot,butisachildaswell.Intime,hewillgrowandmaturebutatthebeginningofthegame,manyvillagerswillremindhimofthisfact.Forexmple,morethanoneindividualwilltellhimthatheisnotyetoldenoughtodrinkwine.Notethatyourcharacterneverwillbeabletorealisethepromiseimplicitinhis'growth'ashealwayswillremain,forallintentsandpurposesarobot.Marriage,therefore,isnotpossibleinanInnocentLife.

Thegameissetonagorgeousisland.LikeLostinBlue2,however,thereisdangerinParadiseastheislandisvolcanicandaneruptioncoulddestroyalllife.

Automationandtechnologyarepartoftheproblem.TheSpiritsoftheIslandhavebecomeangryatwhattheyperceiveasneglectofNature.Thosewhorelyonautomationinfarmingandranchinghavedistancedthemselvesfromthenaturalworldandthespiritswhoruleit.

Dr.Hope,afamousscientist,hasconceivedaplantosavetheislandbycreatingarobot,proposingtoteachhimfarmingandotherskills,inthehopethathewillbeabletofindasolutiontothethreatthatfaceseveryone.Itisironicthatarobot,createdwiththeultimatetechnology,mustbetheonetorenewrespectandattentiontowardsthespiritsofNature.

Youhavetwoyearstoavertthethreatoftheeruptionofthevolcano.This

guidewillshowyouhowtocompletethegoalbeforetheendofthefirstWinter,butyouactuallycancompletethegoalinthesecondyearifyoudonotmanagetodoitinthefirstWinter.ThegoalcanbecompletedonlyinWinter,bytheway.IfyoufailtoappeasetheFireSpiritbytheendofthesecondWinter,disasterwillstrike.

Dr.HopelivesinalargemansionatthesouthernendofVolcanoTown.HishousekeeperVitalivesthereinherownlittleflatupstairsintheback.

Youwilldiscoverthatmostofthecharactersaremembersofoneofthreefamilieswholiveontheisland.ThesearetheBanksfamily,theBranchfamilyandGallion'sfamily.TheBanksfamilyconsistsofGayakandMarlene,patriarchandmatriarch,MarcoBanks,theirson,andhisfamily,Lucia,BigandMarcia.MarcoBanksisinchargeoftheMarcoBanksCorporation,abusinessthatsuppliestechnologicallyadvancedequipmentandappliancestotheentireisland.

GayakisMarco'sfather.Thereisaphilosophicalandsociologicalconflictbetweenthem.GayakandMarleneareold-fashioned,preferringtoleadasimple,uncomplicatedlife.Theyareproudofthelabouroftheirownhands.MarlenesewsSeedBagsbyhandandherhusbandgrowshisownproduce.ItisGayakwhowillteachyouhowtofarmatthestartofthegame.

Gayak'ssonMarco,ontheotherhand,isthemasteroftechnologyandautomation.Marco'shouseisfullyautomated,ahugeedificefilledwithmachines,ratherstarkandbarrencomparedtothecozyclutterofGayak'shouse.Marcia,Marco'sdaughter,spendsSaturdaynightsathergrandparent'shouseandalwayswishesthatshecouldlivethereinsteadofbeingforcedtoreturntothesterileenvironmentoftheMBC.

TheBranchfamilyareranchersandownalargefullyautomatedranch.Theheadofthefamily,Jonathan,isinchargeoftheranch.HiswifeVanessaisanaccomplishedartist.Theyhavethreechildren,Becky,SimonandLionel.

Gallion'sfamilyaremerchants.Gallionhimselfappearstoberetired,buthis

wifeMasamiownsandrunsthelocalrestaurant.HissonMillionrunsthelocalsupermarket,the'Shop-a-MillionSupermarket'.

Onweekends,therearespecialclassesforadultsandchildren.OnSaturday,VanessaBranchteachesanartclass.OnSunday,Max'swifeNinateachesmusic.

Essentially,yourcharacterwillbegivenaruinedfarmtorestore.Asthegameprogresses,youwillbegivenmoreandmoreopportunitiestoautomateyourtasksratherthanperformingthembyhand,andpartofthechallengeistoremainclosetothelandwhiledoingyourutmosttoincreasetheproductivityofyourfarm.

Thereisatimelimitonthefirstgoal,whichistoappeasetheFireSpiritinordertopreventtheeruptionofthevolcano.Inthisguide,thatgoalwillbeaccomplishedbeforetheendofthefirstWinter.

Onceyouhaveachievedthefirstgoal,youwillunlockasecondgoal,whichistoship1000CropsfromtheWastelandFarm,alargefieldcontrolledbytheFireSpirit.Again,youwillbegiventwoyearstocompletethegoal.Unlikethefirstgoal,however,completionofthesecondearlyinthegamewillnotunlockanynewmissionsorgoals.Inotherwords,aftershipping1000cropsfromtheWastelandField,youstillwillbeobligedtowaitforothertime-relatedplotpointstooccurinordertomovetheplotforward.

Inthisgame,youmustbetaughthowtofarmbeforeyouwillbeabletobeginfarming.YourfirstteacherisaFarmingInstructornamedGayak.
