Inquire about energy performance certificate before installing Solar Yorkshire Although almost everyone is familiar with solar panels yet very few people know about energy performance certificate. If you are one of them then this is a right place to know about this in depth. Installing solar panels in home has become the passion of each and every resident of Yorkshire. People are taking benefits from these panels. Solar Yorkshire is installed on almost every roof. Do you know what energy performance certificate is? Efficiency of a property is recorded by energy performance certificate. In this certification, rating of energy efficiency as well as CO2 emission is provided. It ranges from grade A to grade G means to say grade A for being the most efficient and grade G for the poorest level of efficiency. An EPC’s producing methods are standard. This certification is very much important for buyers, occupiers, owners and tenants so that with the help of this certificate they may come to know about efficiency level of the building which is their investment. The validity of this certificate is up to 10 years. Anyone who wants to install solar panel or any other renewable technology on their premises can apply for this certificate. As energy costs are rising in the UK so homeowners can compensate by energy saving methods and they live better lives. How does energy performance certificate affect getting solar panels? From 1 st April 2012, the energy which the system produces should be claimed the full 21p per KW. This was the requirement of EPC’s grade D. For this, your home and the energy which is produced in your home will be evaluated by an energy assessor. Feed-in-tariff rates on solar necessitate grade D that means your home should be at least 55% energy efficient. Location and size of your property will fix the cost of an EPC. Rates are set by the housing market which will vary on each property. What to be done for increasing rating?

Inquire about energy performance certificate before installing Solar Yorkshire

Although almost everyone is familiar with solar panels yet very few people know about energy performance certificate.

From 1st April 2012, the energy which the system produces should be claimed the full 21p per KW.

Most of the houses in UK, already meet the requirement of EPC rating i.e. grade D or higher but if your property does not meet the requirements then you should do some changes.

1. You should install thermostatic radiator valves in your property

2. You should use energy saving bulbs instead of regular watt light bulbs.

3. Your loft should be insulated

Energy efficiency level can be increased by installing solar panels which will help you in achieving level D on your property. If your home still does not qualify the efficiency level even after making the changes above mentioned then you should go for feed-in-tariff at the rate of 9p per unit then you will feel the benefits of free electricity.
