“Life is not a matter of place, things or comfort; rather, it concerns the basic human rights
of family, country, justice and human dignity.”
It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of these freedoms in any democratic society. Indeed,
the very test of a democratic society is the extent to which these freedoms are enjoyed by the
citizens in general. These freedoms, as a whole, constitute the liberty of the individual, and liberty
is one of the most essential ingredients of human happiness and progress.
The students of Goldcrest High Vashi are celebrating Human Rights. We at Goldcrest high have a
mission to shape our students into caring, courageous global citizens and the various activities
conducted in the school make our students better every day.
The theme for July is Dignity of Life, Liberty and Personal Security. Students will learn and
carry forward the theme through various activities like role play, debates and elocution.
Van Mahotsav
“Learn character from trees,
values from roots and change from
leaves” This has been rightly said as
the needs of all living beings are
fulfilled by them. But their depleting
number has become a serious issue. In
an earnest attempt to lend a green
touch to the school environment and
sensitize the community about the
green and clean environment, GHV st
celebrated Van Mahotsav on 1 July,
2016 with great vigour and
enthusiasm. The entire school went on
a nature trail to witness the greenery
around them. The school staff and the
students wore green clothes to spread
the awareness and they sang the
slogan “Grow Green, Save Trees”
during the procession. The activity
was appreciated by all the parents and
the citizens in vicinity.

To appreciate the efforts taken by our students to excel in academics in the previous year, a grand Prize Day was nd
organised in Goldcrest High school on 2 July 2016. You need three things to win: discipline, hard work and before everything, commitment. No one will make it without these three. And we, at Goldcrest High, work to instil such values to enable the school to rise on the “Wings of Excellence.” The prize winners have shown consistent demonstration of good work through the year, with their diligence and determination they became the face of the crowd and not just a part of the crowd. A motivational and educational Mime to save and preserve environment and a mesmerizing fusion dance presented by the students was appreciated by the guests and the parents. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Siddharth Tiwari, Rotary President, Navi Mumbai, Principal Ms. Jaspal Gill, Vice Principal Mr. Prakash Nair and our PTA Members. This was a momentous occasion for all the prize winners and their parents as their hard work was being acknowledged and appreciated. Principal Madam addressed the gathering and congratulated the prize-winners for their hard work.

“Stories are the creative conversation of life itself into a more powerful, clearer, more meaningful experience. They are the currency of human contact.” Children enjoy listening stories, even the difficult thing is told to them in the form of story, they understand it well. To enhance the creativity and writing skills of our students, a story writing competition was arranged. Students of primary section came up with wonderful stories describing their superheroes and dream world. It was indeed a very nice experience as they could boost their creativity and write a story of their own. All our young writers enjoyed the activity and got inspired to write more stories.

Like it is rightly said that 'seize t h e m o m e n t b e c a u s e s o m e opportunities don't come twice' few of the students from grade 9 and 10 were given this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the honourable Shree Vinod Tawde, the education minister of our state on the occasion of teachers' day. The students were grateful enough towards the school for giving them this wonderful chance.
On 19th of July, 2016 Aditya Aspat,
Anshika Jhamb, Ronit shah and Shreya
Gulati were given the chance to meet this
dynamic personality in person. When
they reached his beautiful bungalow in
Malabar hills the sight was very pleasing.
There were many people waiting to talk
to sir and the students felt very privileged
to have gotten this chance. They
interacted with Mr. Tawde and thanked
him as he graced the Annual function of

Nehru Science Centre is one of the largest science centres in Asia. On 22 July 2016, a visit to this centre was organized for the students of grades 6 to 8. This visit fostered the scientific temper in the students and gave them an opportunity to get a hands-on experience with several interactive and user-friendly exhibits which included all aspects of science. They reached around 10.00 am and went around various sections of the Science Centre. The exhibit of 'Head on a platter', 'Pin Screen', 'The Pre-historic' gallery became a favourite with most of the students. There was a short quiz conducted at the 'Space Centre' which encouraged students to observe the displays more carefully. The students headed back carrying a lilfetime memory of their visit.

The day the students were told that they would be meeting Mr. Riteish Deshmukh, they were on cloud 9. They couldn't express their regards to the school, who gave them such a wonderful opportunity. Meeting Mr. Deshmukh was absolutely splendid. He is a wonderful man who carries poise and a positive attitude. He listened to everything the students apprised him with and the session was really interactive. Mr. Deshmukh was really informative. He told the about his life in Latur and how he felt different in Mumbai. Mr. Deshmukh readily agreed to join the students for the Annual Concert, despite of a very tedious schedule. He gave us a great inspiration. Students learnt that a man could be wealthy yet so down- to –earth. They were completely impressed by such a wonderful personality!

As Mahatma Gandhi once quoted, “I saw that bad handwriting should be regarded as a sign of the imperfect education.” We at Goldcrest High insist upon neat handwriting as it is an imprint of the self on the page. We always instruct the students to write neatly. A write well competition was conducted in the school with the same purpose of neat handwriting. Students wrote a paragraph on the given sheet in the best of their handwriting. After checking it, the teachers gave some instructions to the students as to how they can improve their handwriting and make it more attractive. They motivated the

The GHV – GHL collaboration is a great step forward to forge links and create deeper understanding of the Goldcrest philosophy and vision that we share, and to propel students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives. The students from Goldcrest High Latur were received by band and flower bouquets, they met their buddies and attended the regular classes. A special assembly was organized to welcome these very special guests. The students of grade 7 and 8 presented a wonderful mime and fusion dance. Our guests from Latur were taken to the field trip to the Nehru Planetarium where they enjoyed a lot. On the last day a special party was organized in the MPH, the students enjoyed the party and a meal from KFC. The event helped the students to expand their knowledge, experience a new culture and understand the importance of co-operation.

The festival of Ramazan Eid was celebrated with great fervor in the Pre Primary Section on 5 July 2016. A special assembly was conducted wherein a skit on how Eid is celebrated was performed by the teachers. The significance of the festival was depicted beautifully in the skit. In which they showed about their prayer 'Namaaz', the way they greet the people who visit them and how the elders bless the younger ones with the eidi (a token of love). The students were delighted to watch the skit as their face was brimming with smiles. The skit ended with a wishing song and so did the hall echo with the wishes of Eid Mubarak to one and all.
