APRIL 2013
If we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste of adversity,
prosperity would not be so welcome.Shake o the winter blues! Life isnt perfect but theres
so much beauty in the world around us; enjoy it. Appreci-
ate the little things. Make time for the stu that makesyou happy. Spring makes it so much easier to look on the
bright side! Have a
wonderful April!Sincerely,

Woodside is proud to be part ofthe UNH composting program!The Woodside compost bin is a bright yellow bucket and is located near the fence next to the Trash
Compactor. All leftover food scraps that do not contain meat or dairy can be placed in the compostIts easy, and saves nutrient-rich food from ending up in a landfill. Here are some tips about what is
isnt compostable, and how to make composting manageable for you and your roommates.
Compostable:: veggie & fruit scraps
Egg shells, crushed
Coffee grounds & filters
Tea leaves & tea bags
Hay
Grains, rice, flour, wheat products
Flowers & plant leaves
Small amounts of shredded paper
Non-meat, non-dairy table scraps
Non- Compostable:: Meat, Fish, Dairy (these items
take a LONG time to compost
and theyre smelly!)
Colored paper
Diseased plants & flowers
Inorganic material (plastics,metals, etc.)
Human or animal waste
Fats & oils
HINT: keep a small plastic bucket with a lid in your freezer tocollect compostable material. This will keep any smell out ofyour apartment!
