Instructions for Use

The GlucoPlus™ FastTouch® Adjustable Lancing Device provides aneasy, safe way to obtain capillary blood samples needed for bloodglucose monitoring. The adjustable tip on the Lancing Device allowsyou to choose the best depth of skin penetration. To obtain a dropof blood, first wash your hands with warm, soapy water. Dry yourhands thoroughly before using the Lancing Device.

1. Remove the depthadjustment cap. Insert alancet into the lancet holderand push down until it isfully seated.

2. Twist off the lancet’sprotective disk. Make twofull turns to ensure that thelancet seperates from theprotective disk.

3. Replace the Lancing Devicecap and set the puncturedepth to the desired number.There are 5 levels of skinpenetration offered. To selecta desired depth, move thenumber to match the arrow.

To select the best depth:1-2 for soft or thin skin3 for average skin4-5 for thick or calloused skin

LANCING DEVICE

4. Pull back the cockingmechanism until it makes aclick, and then release. If itdoes not click, the devicemay have been cockedwhen the lancet wasinserted.

5. Release the sleeve. It willautomatically move back toits original position near thetrigger and lift up thedevice.

6. Position the end of theLancing Device against thetip of the finger. Press thetrigger button, and lift upthe Lancing Device awayfrom the finger after thepuncture is complete.

7. Set aside the Lancing Device and wait a few seconds for ablood drop to form. The flow of blood will be helped bykeeping the hand warm, by lowering the hand to waist level,and by gentle masage of the finger.

8. For safety reasons, and to prevent cross-contamination, discardthe used lancet into an appropriate sharps or biohazardcontainer. Never allow another person to use a lancet that hasalready been used. If the Lancing Device is to be used byanother person, the unit must be provided with a new tip andsterile lancet.

9. Lancet removal: Unscrew the Lancing Device tip. Carefully stickthe protective disk cover back on the used lancet. Grip theholder firmly and pull the lancet safely out of the holder. Screwthe tip back in the Lacing Device.

Taking care of your Lancing DeviceUse alcohol or soap and water to wipe the outside of the LancingDevice. For more complete cleaning, remove the tip, wash it inwarm water and rinse well. It can be disinfected with 70% rubbingalcohol. (Hospitals should consult their own infection controlprotocol.)

Limited WarrantyGlucoPlus warrants that the Lancing Device will function effectivelyfor a period of five (5) years from date of purchase. Amalfunctioning device should be returned to:

Mode d’emploi

Le dispositif de prélèvement ajustable GLUCOPLUS permet d’obteniraisément une goutte de sang capillaire ent toute sécurité. Il estéquipé d’un mécanisme qui permet de changer la profondeur de laponction capillaire. Avant d’utiliser le dispositif de prélèvement,laver vos mains avec de l’eau tiède et du savon. Rincez vos mains etséchez-les bien.

1. Enlevez l’embout dudispositif de prélèvement.Insérez une lancette dans lesupport de lancette. Poussezvers le bas jusqu’à ce qu’ellesoit bien fixée dans sonsupport.

2. Retirez le disque protecteurde la lancette en le faisanttourner délicatement. Faitesdeux tours complets pourvous assurer de bien séparerle disque protecteur de lalancette.

3. Remplacez l’embout dudispositif de prélèvement etréglez la profondeur depénétration au réglagedésiré. Il y a 5 niveaux deprofondeur. Pour sélectionner la réglagedésiré, aligner la flèche avecle numéro.

Pour sélectionner la meilleur réglage: 1-2 peau mince ou doux3 peau moyenne4-5 peau durcit et épaissit

DISPOSITIF DE PRÉLÈVEMENT

4. Retirez le mécanisme decontrôle d'armement jusqu'àce qu'il fasse un déclic, puislibérez. S'il ne déclic pas, ledispositif peut avoir été arméau moment de l’insertion dela lancette.

5. Libérez la douille. Elle sedéplacera automatiquementà son position original, etsoulever le dispositif deprélèvement.

6. Tenez fermement ledispositif de prélèvementssur le côté de votre doigt,l’embout appuyé contrevotre doigt. Appuyez sur lagâchette, et retirer ledispositif après qu la piqûresoit complète.

7. Mettez le dispositif de prélèvements de côté et attendezquelques secondes. L'écoulement du sang sera aidé enmaintenant la main chaude, en guardant la main au niveau detaille, et par le masage délicat du doigt.

8. Pour des raisons de sûreté, et pour empêcher la contaminationtransversale, jetez la lancette utilisé dans un contenant servantà récolter les objets pointus ou acérés. Permettez jamais àpersonne d'utiliser une lancette qui a été utilisé. Si le dispositifde prélèvement doit être employé par une autre personne,l'unité doit être équipée d’un nouveau embout et d’unelancette stérile.

9. Déplacement de lancette: Dévissez le bout du dispositif deprélèvements. Reserrer soigneusement la couvertureprotectrice de disque sur la lancette utilisé. Saisissez le supportfermement et tirez la lancette sans risque hors du support.Revissez le bout du dispositif de prélèvements.

Prendre soin de votre dispositif de prélèvementsEssuyez l'extérieur du dispositif de prélèvements avec de l'alcool oude l’eau avec du savon. Pour mieux nettoyer, enlevez l’embout,lavez-le dans l’eau tiède et bien rinçer. Ça peut être désinfecté avecde l'alcool de 70%. (les hôpitaux devraient consulter leur propreprotocole de commande d'infection.)
