1. Wash your hands with soap and warmwater and dry them thoroughly. Remove

4. Place the cover back onto the lancingdevice.

5. Choose the desired depth of penetrationto get a good blood sample with the least

amount of discomfort. Adjust the depthsetting by turning the cover of the lancingdevice.

6. Hold the lancing device in one hand. Pullthe sliding barrel forward with your other

hand until an audible click is heard. Thelancing device is now loaded and ready touse. The device may be returned to the

original position by releasing the slidingbarrel.

7. To obtain a larger sample of blood, lower thehand from which a sample is to be obtained andshake it a few times. Rub from the palm upward

to the fingers with your other hand. Place theend of the lancing device against the finger formwhich the blood sample is obtained. Push thetrigger Button to puncture the skin. Set the

lancing aside and proceed with your bloodglucose test according to blood glucosemonitors directions.

8. When using AST cap, place the end of thelancing device against the arm form which

the blood sample is to be obtained. Applypressure and the skin inside the targetarea will rise slightly. Push the triggerbutton to puncture the skin. You can also

use the adjustable AST Cap by installing itto the lancing device. Follow the sameinstructions to obtain a blood sample.

Remove the Adjustable Comfort Tip whenfinished. Put the Protective Cap back onto

the exposed needle of the lancet.

Direct the lancing device away from yourperson and slide the Lancet Ejector lever

in a forward motion, disposing the lancetin an approved container. Return LancetEjector lever to its original position, the

depress the Trigger button. Pull back onthe adjustable Comfort Tip and the lancingdevice is ready to use again.

Cleaning your Lancing Device andcap

To clean this items, wipe them with a soft clothdampened with water and mild detergent. Do

not immerse the lancing device in any liquid. Todisinfect these items, prepare a solution of onepart household bleach to ten parts water. Wipethe lancing device with a soft cloth dampened

with this solution. Immerse the cap only in thissolution for 30 minutes. After disinfecting, rinsebriefly with water and allow both to air dry.
