Nicole has been performing in the Edmonton area since the age of �ve. She hopes to continue to be a part of performing arts professionally for many years to come. In her �nal semester at Concordia University College of Alberta, Nicole is achieving a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Nicole is excited to bring her training and experience in drama, dance, musical theatre, and classical, choral and sacred music to a new generation of performers.

Rebecca has been a competitive jazz and lyrical dancer for over six years. She has gained experience through formal dance training and workshops, in many different styles of dance. Her versatility as a dancer has enabled her to teach ballet, Broadway dance, hip hop, and musical theatre. Competing in her favourite style jazz, she has won the ‘Outstanding Award’ in the solo division at many competitions. Rebecca has found sharing her love of dance with families in the community a truly rewarding experience.

Renée is currently working towards a Degree in Education at Concordia University College. She has experience with a variety of dance styles, including Ukrainian Dance. She is pleased to have completed another year teaching performing arts programs for Strathcona County. Combining her passions, working with children and teaching performing arts, has been a dream come true for her! Renée loves helping children �nd their hidden talents through performing arts.

After spending a year abroad in Scotland Mhairi is excited to return and teach some of the performing arts programs at Festival Place. While living in the UK, she received a Master of Arts degree in Musical Theatre from the world renowned Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Mhairi is eager to share her knowledge and passion for performing arts with all of her students.

Luay was born and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He moved to Canada eleven years later and is currently in the BA/BEd program in Dramatic Arts at the University of Alberta. He has experiences in acting, improv, puppetry, directing, singing, designing �lm and drama related art forms. In 2010, his �rst directing project, The Insanity of Mary Girard, won a total of 10 regional and provincial awards including "Best Student Director" and "Best Student Directed Play". Luay is looking forward to teaching and working with all of the talented people in Strathcona County and surrounding area.

Cody has a passion for video production and technical theatre. He’s a graduate of the Red Deer College Motion Picture Arts program and Technical Theatre Production program. He’s been working for the past four years as part of the technical theatre crew at Festival Place. Cody is teaching the Video Production program offered at Festival Place, that focuses on creative expression through video.

Katie is about to graduate Bev Facey High School this year. In the fall she will be attending the University of Alberta to start her degree in Drama. Katie has been involved in the performing arts since she was three, including 9 years of dance and performances with the Citadel and Festival Place. She has always had a passion for theatre whether it is watching, performing, or teaching. Katie is excited to work with children over the summer to help them discover their talent, while having fun!

Allison believes that there is a clown hidden inside all of us and that no one is too young or too old to be silly! A long time clown, Allison has an Education degree with a focus in Drama. She is excited to pass down her love of performing arts to the next generation.

Taylor is graduating high school this year and completing twelve years of dance in various communities. She found the next step of her career teaching performing arts programs for Strathcona County. She is very excited to share her love of the arts with the children of the community. She loves to see the children fall in love with dance, and music the same way she did when she was little.

Melissa has been working for Strathcona County as a performing arts instructor for the past three years, and she has loved every second of it! She is currently studying Education at the University of Alberta with a minor in Drama. She is passionate about instructing drama, her favourite part is seeing the participants cut loose and express themselves. Melissa believes that performing art programs are the perfect place for people to loosen up and get creative.

Lynne's career in movement and performing arts began in Thames Polytechnic England where she studied a teaching (honours) degree in Drama and Phys. Ed. It was there that she discovered a talent in dance and choreography. She holds a BA in Drama from Lethbridge University where she became enthralled with dramaturgy and creative theatre in education. Lynne's desire to merge and share these skills led her to teaching performing arts in Strathcona County. This amalgamation in a relaxed, fun �lled ambience empowers students to tap into their personal strengths and abilities, giving them unique skills that will last a lifetime.

Performing arts brings your imagination and creative spirit to life! Performing arts students gain life skills by tapping into their hidden creativity. Students of every age learn new ways of expressing their ideas and emotions though drama, dance, music and song. As students evolve in performing arts, they develop enhanced cognitive, motor, language, team work and social skills. By learning how to express their creativity, students improve their self esteem which can improve their overall quality of life.
