6.2. Setting up the antenna.

Installation of the antenna includes the following steps: Step 1: Choosing a suitable location. Step 2: Mounting the antenna pole. Step 3: Mounting the antenna. Step 4: Pointing the antenna.

Do not stand in front of the LNB or the antenna dish during pointing. Keep the space between the LNB and the antenna dish clear.

6.2.1. Step 1: Choosing a suitable location.

When setting up the antenna base, take account of the orientation the antenna must have.

The antenna needs a clear, unobstructed view towards the satellite located at 113W° (without any buildings, trees - that may block the signal).

Fig.3. Antenna system.

The antenna must have clear line of sight and no obstruction

blocking the path between the antenna and the satellite.

To aid in choosing a suitable location for the antenna, it may be helpful to know the antenna

pointing information for the DataBridge satellite. That pointing information can be found in the

“Smart LNB” App. The next several steps show how to get that info based on your current

GPS location.

Using an internet connection on your mobile phone, install “SmartLNB” App on mobile phone

from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. (The IOS version requires IOS8.0 or later version.

The Android version requires Android 4.0 or later version.)

*It is recommended to install the App and get updated database on a strong Wifi

or cell connection before going to the install location*

Launch SmartLNB App and update database if needed.

(App will notify if a database update is needed.)

The first screen will appear like this with the “Settings” icon in blue.

Select E13WA.

6.2.2. Step 2: Mounting the antenna pole.

When mounting the antenna pole on the base, use a level to make sure the antenna pole stands upright.

The antenna pole should be made of galvanized steel.

Mast pipe interface: between 1.25 inches and 2.36 inches. (Antenna’s pole diameter).

6.2.3. Step 3: Mounting the antenna.

Antenna arm comprises two parts, Part 1 and Part 2. One of them holds the Outdoor unit, and the other one is screwed to the antenna dish. These two parts are joined through a junction.

Rotate and screw the piece with the elevation scale. (1, B, E). Tightening: 1.5 foot pounds.

9.2. IDU Connection

Step 2 – Connect the Indoor Unit to a wall outlet through the Power Adapter provided: AC/DC Adapter, +30V / 2A. * Wait 5 minutes for the device to boot properly before making any other connections.

Fig.21. Setup / Installation Diagram using Wifi hotspot and Smartphone (Android & IOS) ** Apply power before connecting Ethernet. Connecting RJ45 before applying power, or too soon after applying power, will result in a failure to get a solid “link” and must start over. Step 3 - Connect Wireless Access Point (WAP) After waiting for the IDU to boot, connect a wireless router to RJ45 “LAN” port of Indoor Unit in bridge mode (Wireless WiFi Router is supplied by installer, temporarily, to complete install.)

If you have not already done so, install “SmartLNB” App on mobile phone from

Google Play Store or Apple App Store. (The IOS version requires IOS8.0 or later

version. The Android version requires Android 4.0 or later version.)

** Launch the App for the first time while connected to the internet (cellular or

other means) to allow for updates. The App will notify if a database update is

needed. Following any necessary updates, disconnect from internet (cellular or

other means) and continue.

*It is recommended to install the App and get the updated database on a strong

Wifi or cell connection before going to the install location*

A green icon next to the chain link icon, in the upper most right corner indicates the

database is up to date.

Step 4 - On your smart phone, connect WiFi to wireless SSID of installer

supplied router

** Disable Cellular Data on smartphone.

(This makes sure the smartphone does not revert to cellular network

during the installation process.)

Verify Link Icon in upper right is green. This may take a minute or two.

** If link icon is Red after a few minutes, power IDU down. Wait 5 minutes

and start process over, waiting the appropriate times between steps.
