Offline PostingDuring Tally Interface Mapping the interface can be set as offline by selecting the option Offline, this allows to post data when Shoper 9 and Tally.ERP 9 are not connected by a network. This virtual interface (offline) is completed by installing a Shoper external exe in the system which has Tally.ERP 9 installed (Tally.ERP 9 is customized to accept information from Shoper 9).

The process of data transfer between Shoper 9 and Tally.ERP 9 in an Offline interface setup follows a definite cycle, as given below.

1. Post transactions to Tally menu creates a data file containing all masters and transac-tions in the Out folder of Shoper 9 application folder.

2. This data file is transferred manually to In folder created in the TSbridge application folder and the TSbridge exe is invoked to post the data to Tally.ERP 9.

3. On completion of posting a response file is created in the Out folder of the Tsbridge appli-cation folder, which is transferred manually to In folder of the Shoper 9 application folder.

4. On receiving consecutive posting commands, Shoper 9 checks for this response file and proceeds with the data file creation. The absence or irregularity in the response file will halt the data file creation for posting.

The regular posting of data, only transfers the transactions from Shoper 9 to Tally.ERP 9. To update the masters created after first posting, select the Auto Create Masters when Posting check box to post masters.

Interface of Shoper 9 with Tally.ERP 9

7. Tally.ERP 9 creates a response file for the posted data in Out folder of Data Bridge applica-tion folder. Transfer this file to the In folder in Shoper 9 Application folder.

The naming convention for the Information file and the Response file are as follows:

Information Posting file: TallyInterfacePostinfo-20080401110650.STI

The first part of the file represents Tally interface posting information and the second part indicates the date and time of file creation.

Response file: TallyInterfaceRespinfo-20080401120626.STI

The first part of the file represents Tallyinterface response information and the second part indicates the data and time of file creation.

Given below are steps to Post data from Shoper 9 to Tally.ERP 9 in an offline setup:

Go to Housekeeping > Data Export Masters > Post Transactions to Tally

1. Select the respective Map Name and click Post.

2. Copy the data file created from the Out folder of Shoper 9 to the In folder of TSbridge application folder.

Go to Menu > Setup > General > Tally Interface Utilities > Offline Re-posting
