    Vice Chancellor's MessageLahore College for Women University, as one of theoldest and largest educational institution for women

    in Pakistan and the region, is fully cognizant of itsresponsibility for providing education to talentedyoung women from all walks of life based on theprinciples of access and equity. The university takesa holistic view of education and provides qualityeducation that empowers women throughknowledge and skills to partake fully in theeconomic development of Pakistan throughparticipation in the workforce; as well as impacts

    their attitudes and beliefs so as to enable them tobecome peaceful, tolerant and responsible citizensof the world.The university has excellent human and physicalresources to meet the current challenges. The

    university is proud of its highly qualified faculty. Currently the university has strength of four hundred and fiftyfaculty. Around eighty faculty hold Ph.Ds from prestigious universities in Pakistan and abroad. Research is anintegral part of the educational process. The faculty and students are involved with campus in the heart ofLahore has lush green gardens and a number of new postgraduate blocks with state of the art facility thusproviding a conducive educational environment for optimal learning.The university has a large student body comprising approximately nine thousand women on campus. Thestudents enrolled in its intermediate, undergraduate and postgraduate programs participate in the variouscourses and projects through classroom teaching and self-directed learning. The aim of the educationalactivities is to enable students to become autonomous learners and critical thinkers. The students areencouraged to partake in community projects so that they understand the need to support community in theprocess of development.
