welcometo the Saleto the Sale
I would like to personally welcome you to the 2020 International Sale and to sincerely thank you for your interest in this elite group of Braford cattle and frozen genetics. Though small in numbers, this group illustrates very well what the Braford cow brings to the table in the competitive global beef environment of today. These cattle are functional, durable, sound and stable investments. I assure you that though these Brafords are cleaned-up and shined-up for the sale ring, it does not diminish their ability to survive in the pasture or on the marsh. Take advantage of the opportunity in front of you to purchase elite genetics that are halter-broke, and all without any repercussion to their survivability or long, reproductive futures. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Nathan Hyman and Melisa Montemayor for helping make this sale happen. A special thank you to Christi Natali, Chairwoman of our Youth Committee, along with her committee members and the NJBA Directors for all of their efforts with the meal and silent auction. Whether you are junior showman interested in a show heifer project, a Braford breeder, a commercial breeder, or an international customer there is surely something here in Houston to fit your needs and add value and versatility to your program. Know that you will receive an honest appraisal, aimed at helping you to make the best possible purchasing decision. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday!
See you at the sale!

COW
Lot
Here is a rare opportunity to obtain some of the best of Rock Crest genetics in one powerful package. “Sage” is an impressive selection of enhanced breeding over several generations of champions. This young female is the first offering to the public of an offspring from the two National Grand Champion parents RCM 9182 STEALTH 5139 and RCM 6718 ONLINE MAGGIE. Both Stealth and Maggie have been admired by Braford breeders from around the world as powerful individuals. Stealth is a complete package being moderate frame, structurally correct and extremely heavily muscled. Maggie has been called extremely feminine yet well-muscled with an exquisite udder. Maggie is one of our main donor cows who has always produced high quality flushes. We would expect “Sage” to follow her dam's legacy as a possible donor cow. In addition, Sage sells safe in calf bred by our lead heifer bull RCM MR EG CHANNING ET. “CHAN” sires calves that are low birth weight, easy calving yet high quality cattle. As example, RCM 8105 MATLOCK who is currently in our show string is sired by “CHAN”. We feel MATLOCK is destined to become one of our top herd sires. Don't make the mistake of letting this tremendous female pass you by. Take your herd to new heights with the purchase of this impressive genetic package.

Lot A features embryos produced from J7 LADY V8 808/0 and BOYD 31Z BLUEPRINT 6153. Blueprint is one of today’s most exciting young polled herd sires and he is being used extensively across the Hereford breed. We have four babies from this flush and they are truly exciting. We were fortunate to get four calves out of five transfers. These calves are colored like you’d want a Braford to be and they have a ton of eye appeal and look. We fully expect these cattle to be highly productive breeding pieces and they have the potential to excel when haltered as well.

Our first calves from this flush should hit the ground around Houston sale day and we can’t wait. Belle Air semen is in high demand and pricey but in these Belle Air X F929 embryos, you have the opportunity to take advantage of this great young herd sire in your purebred Braford program. Glance through National Hereford Show results over the last few years and you will realize that no bull consistently sires more winning show heifers than 2296. TR Taylormade was the 2018-2019 Braford Show Bull of the Year. He is a polled, first generation bull sired by the 88X Hereford bull known for producing moderate, thick, heavy milking brood cows. His dam is our partnership Dixon Ranch 827/0 cow that has produced so many high sellers in the UBB’s Bull Development Program. We used him as a yearling and babies by Taylormade are thick and square made. Birth weights have been low enough that we are using him on about 20 heifers this year. Taylormade semen has only been sold at auction during special events and we will continue to exclusively market his semen in this manner throughout 2020.
