What's New

The Third Quarter 2016 International Postal Database contains updated country data. For a complete list of countries and the level at which the database recognizes countries, see here.

Although the Third Quarter 2016 Database is compatible with the previous CODE-1 PlusInternational 1.8.1 software versions, it is highly recommended that you install the CODE-1

Note:

Plus International 1.8.2 software in order to benefit from the enhancements included in the1.8.2 release. Please see the installation instructions for your respective platform forinformation on installing the software. You can find this document at:

The CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.2 software release contains enhancements that improve addressmatching for all countries. Additionally, the CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.2 software includesaddress coding enhancements that were made to correct return codes for all countries.

Database Compatibility

Although the Third Quarter 2016 Database is compatible with the previous CODE-1 Plus International1.8.1 software versions, it is highly recommended that you install the CODE-1 Plus International1.8.2 software in order to benefit from the enhancements included in the 1.8.2 release. The keystructure of the databases remains the same.



Installation

Installation Overview

The International Postal Database file is over 3 GB in size. Media delivery has been discontinued.However, you may request and receive backup media for a nominal fee from the estore. If you areon a mainframe, the increase in database size may affect your installation by the number of tapesyou must load.

• Windows, Linux, and Unix—The CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.2 Third Quarter 2016 Database(ASCII files) is available on the technical support web site, www.g1.com/support, or the estoreweb site, http://store.pbinsight.com.

• Mainframe—The CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.2 Third Quarter 2016 Database (EBCDIC files)is available on the technical support web site, www.g1.com/support, or the estore web site,http://store.pbinsight.com. You must use the JCL members ICPDBINS, ICPALOCF, andICPDBIND provided with the 1.8.2 software load to install the Third Quarter 2016 Database.

• IBM i—The CODE-1 Plus International 1.8.2 Third Quarter 2016 Database (EBCDIC files) isavailable on the technical support web site, www.g1.com/support, or the estore web site,http://store.pbinsight.com.

Installing on Windows

1. Download the database from the technical support web site,www.g1.com/support, or the estoreweb site, http://store.pbinsight.com. The database is downloaded as a zip file. Unzip thedatabase before proceeding with the installation.

2. Select Start > Programs > CODE-1 Plus International > Database Load Utility.3. Specify the path for the file(s) you extracted by using the browse feature. Click Open.4. Click Browse to change to a new location or Next to accept this path. When browsing, once you

have reached the folder containing the extracted file(s), highlight any file and click Open, thenNext.

5. Loading will begin and a progress bar will appear. When this is complete, you will return to theDatabase Load Utility screen to carry out any other database installations.

Installing on Unix or Linux


2. Source the <ICP Location>/bin/setup script.3. From <ICP Location>/bin enter the installdb command to run the database loader.4. Follow the prompts during the rest of the installation process.

z/OS Installation

You can install a database on the z/OS platform in one of two ways:

• Internet download• Tape

Media delivery has been discontinued. However, you may request and receive backupmedia for a nominal fee from the estore.

2. Store the files on a local drive/directory.3. Log onto your mainframe and locate the installation library for CODE-1 Plus International.4. Locate DASD space to accommodate the product database. Note: Approximately 9000 cylinders

are needed to load the database.5. Locate and customize the ICPALOCFmember to suit your site standards, then submit themember.

The ICPALOCF member will allocate temporary/sequential file(s) on the mainframe, then uploadthe downloaded file(s) to the mainframe. To accommodate an increase in file size for theTAPBLK01.CD rawEBCDIC database file, pleasemodify this statement to addDSNTYPE=LARGEand SPACE=(CYL,(5000,4000)):

6. Locate and customize the ICPDBINDmember to suit your site standards, then submit the member.The ICPDBIND member will create the appropriate VSAM database file(s) from the sequentialfiles uploaded in the prior step and will then remove the flat files from the mainframe. Toaccommodate an increase in file size for the G1ICPCC, G1ICCTY, and G1ICPCS files, changethe RECORDS statement to:

RECORDS(500000 3000)

Installing on z/OS Using Tape

1. Insert the database tape (only available from the estore for a nominal fee).2. Locate DASD space to accommodate the product database. Note: Approximately 9000 cylinders

are needed to load the database.3. Edit the ICPDBINS JCLmember in the INSTALIB JCL. The Third Quarter 2016 database requires

a fifth tape. Add the following code to the ICPDBINS JCL:

4. Submit the JCL for execution. Check the output of the job to ensure that all steps completed witha zero return code.

5. Review the Database Summary output.

Installing on IBM i

1. Download the database from the technical support web site,www.g1.com/support, or the estoreweb site, http://store.pbinsight.com. The database is downloaded as a zip file and needs tobe downloaded to a Windows-based machine. Execute or unzip the file using a standard unziputility before proceeding with the installation.

2. Sign on to CODE-1 Plus International.3. From theWork with Jobs screen, press <F20> to access the Database Functions screen.4. Select the option that indicates you are installing a new database or installing from the Internet

(IDS).5. Specify the library name where you want the database installed in the Install to Library field

and press <F6> to confirm your choices. If installing over a previous version of the database,that database will be overwritten.

6. Follow the screen prompts to complete the installation process.

• Level A—Street-level data is provided.• Level B—City and/or postal code data is provided.• Level C—Country data is provided.
