For four years Xavier was chair of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF) and of itsFoundationofFinancialStudies.TheIEAFistheSpanishbranchoftheEuropeanFederationofFinancialAnalysts,CEFFA. In2010,Xavierwasappointedasmemberof itshonorificboard inrecognitionof theoutstandingservicesprovidedtotheentityandtheSpanishfinancialmarkets.

Xavier isamemberoftheboardofdirectorsofseveralprivateandpubliccompanies inSpain inawide array of sectors. Parallel to his business responsibilities, Xavier has been the head professor oflong-termfinancialstrategyatESADEBusinessSchool(Barcelona,Spain),whereheisstillamemberoftheprofessors’senate.

Xaiver is the co-author of a book on business valuation, Principios de Valoracion de Empresas(Principles of Corporate Valuation). He received his Bachelor in Business Administration from ESADE(Barcelona, Spain); an MBA from ESADE; and has conducted post-graduate programs with HarvardBusinessSchool,SloanSchoolofManagement(MIT),andStern(NYU).

HerveyAllenHervey Allen works for the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) as its

Assistant Director. The NSRC provides technical information, engineeringassistance,training,equipment,andeducationalmaterialstonetworkoperatorsatresearch and education institutions and internet service providers in emergingregions. Over the past few years, Hervey has done extensive organizing,coordinating, and teaching in network workshops and tutorials covering topics

such as network monitoring and management, Unix system administration, security best practices,DNSSEC, scalable network services, and campus network design. Theseworkshops have been held inover 40 countries around theworld and have been part of events such as APRICOT, APNIC, SANOG,AfNOG,PacNOG,WALC,andmultipleccTLDtrainings.

RobertBallanceDr.RobertBallanceiscurrentlyservingasaWhiteHousePresidentialInnovation

Fellowandmost recentlywasadistinguishedmemberof technical staff at SandiaNational Laboratories. A practicing computer scientist, Bob helps people andorganizations integrate, deploy, and use rapidly evolving computing systems andnewtechnologies.HereceivedhisPh.DinComputerSciencefromtheUniversityofCalifornia,Berkeley.

Bob has worked inmany roles: professor, researcher, developer, entrepreneur, consultant, high-performance computing (HPC) systemmanager, leader of high-tech teams, and IT strategist. Recentprojects have included deployment and management of Red Storm (a significant HPC systemcollaboration between Sandia National Laboratories and Cray, Inc.), coordination of collaborationsamong national laboratories, and establishing the “Mission Computing Council” at Sandia. While atSandia, he helped to establish the Cray XTremeUser’s Group, now incorporated into the Cray UsersGroup.From2014-2015,hewassecretaryoftheCrayUsersGroup.PriortojoiningSandia,hewasaco-founderof the the LinuxClusters Institute (LCI), anorganization centeredonhelpingorganizationsastheybeginusingandoperatingLinuxclustersineducation,research,andbusiness.
