Out of the box thinking, inventive, quality minded
The universe has a plan for everybody. Sometimes the plan is revealed sometimes not.
I was always a technology buff and wanted to know how everything worked. This is my story. Some time when I was in my teens I designed and built a synthesizer with key board. That was cool. I also completely ripped apart my snowmobile when I was 15 and programmed a little computer the Timex Sinclair ZX80. The snowmobile needed over hauling, darn thing only went 45 mph. I really liked learning how things worked. I attended community college wanting to be a Tech. Here I learned about motors, PLC’s, and communication equipment just for starters. I began repairing VCR’s and TV’s. That, just wasn’t cutting it. Call me lazy but the technology was changing way to fast to keep up with. After many years I started redesigning or repairing things with duct tape. In my first job as a full time tech. I re-discovered that I really enjoyed mechanical things a great deal more. You see I always liked working on things such as cars and snowmobiles. When working at a testing facility for Gm I started as a tech. Simple stuff, like set up test. Was rinse repeat. I started noticing fixtures and tools things were getting broke. A lot. I started making my own tools and modifying the fixtures to fix the problem. I eventually started assembling the test stands that mimic auto AC systems.
Who am I – how I got here
The next stop on the career highway was Praxair. Here I was given a lot of free reign. Whoa. It was a good job. Here I met with any number of engineers in the group to get their project moving. Most of the time a concept was handed to me on a white piece of paper or drawn out on the white board. I needed to design the fixtures and test apparatus. Which needed plumbing, electrical circuits and safety devices. A running cost sheet and written SOP’s were often also requested.
Time to shift gears. Early 2009 I decided that I wanted to be more appreciated for my work and research and have a greater impact on the company in which I belong to. I started the long haul and went to engineering college to get my bachelorette. While attending school I held a few jobs. I got valuable experience which can be applied to engineering. The companies I worked for included health care, aerospace, aircraft, heat transfer. Since then I have applied my engineering skills to improve product quality and design, improved plant equipment, And help save money.
Who am I – how I got here
Little did I know that Life would have a plan for me.What would it be?The ability to exploit something I’m really good at• Design and modify• Troubleshooting – Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic,
Computers and PLC• Details – Analytical• Communication• Mechanical systems – Motors, Hydraulics, Engines,
pneumatics• Design complete systems that integrate electrical
and mechanical components.• Thinking outside of the box and inventiveness
The Plan
A good sense to ensure equipment is operational and properly functional giving to a quality product, with cost savings and employee safety.
Experience with a wide range of equipment this includes• Test laboratory, Plant facilities, Clean room,
Production floor, Machine shop, Computer and PLC.• Energy storage, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical
Industry Exposure• Aerospace, Medical, Aeronautical, Military, Cryogenics
and industrial gas, Oil and Gas, Heat transfer, Automotive
What I have to offer
Good communication skills• Ability to understand engineering problems and convey
workable solutions to production employees and non engineering entities with in the company.
• Ability to communicate clearly problems with processes or equipment found in the manufacturing process with engineering team members.
• Ability to resolve any equipment issue quickly, whether it is permanent or temporary.
• Vender friendly. I ask the right questions to resolve any problems with new, upgrades or legacy equipment. I generally get better results and pricing due to this.
What I have to offer
Worked with standards• ISO 9001, Mil spec., CGMP(current good manufacturing
practices), EPA for refrigeration, ITAR
Safety oriented• I fully believe in a safe work environment.
This means working safe at work and home.
Technical background• Equipment that fits your needs better, allowing future
expansion• Quicker setup time of equipment• On time “go date”• Ability to train and task others to use equipment
What I have to offer
Designed• High pressure gas distribution panel.• Fixture that can be used to pressurize transducers while
being vibration tested• Fixture so that pc board deflection can be measured.
Provided• Insight, as to how oil from the vacuum pumps was affecting
product. • Better usage of Helium leak detector through better fittings.• *New process involving a heated vacuum oven to improve IR• Improved ergonomic usage of manual high pressure test
stand.• Plant ESD equipment repairs, installs, and calibrations.
Awarded Two Times• Achievement – Job well done and Zero days missed
Experience – Lord
High pressure gas distribution panel
Experience – Lord
Conducted • Particulate study demonstrating effectiveness of flaps in
grinders.• *Critical process measurements of temperature during
mold operations, the study discovered abnormally high temperatures in the equipment caused by multiple sources (root cause). $25K/ mo.
• Time study and presented data regarding equipment performance.
Demonstrated need to modify used material chute to better serve grinder and conveyor belt system.Designed a mixer / magnet support bracket, a bearing insertion tool and a stainless steel hopper lid, box brake system.Trained production and maintenance personnel on daily inspections of equipment and processes to increase productivity and device quality.
Experience – Hospira
Simple in design, immediate results. The brake stopped boxes from falling onto the floor after being filled by the machine. Safe as well, no objects sticking out causing a tripping hazard.
Experience – Hospira
Senior design project• *Water recirculation system that reused and filtered
the water from a test setup. Potentially saved the company 1 million gallons of water per year.
Experience – State University College at BuffaloSenior design project• *Water recirculation system that reused and filtered
