A mythical place of Parisian nightlife, in the heart of the Golden Triangle. Raspoutine, once a Russian cabaret restaurant, became the most popular nightclub in Paris in just a few years. Its alcoves covered in red velour, having witnessed so many parties since its creation in 1965, has had a new lease of life. Amid the theatrical décor, an extravagant creation of artist Erté, now take place chic, seductive soirées organised by the artitic directors against a backdrop of rousing deep house music.

It was a favourite haunt of Serge Gainsbourg, the Aga Khan and the Count of Paris, just like Marlene Dietrich who admired the stage from her fetish round table. Among today’s guests we find Fashion Week’s top models, Karl Lagerfeld, Kanye West, Leonardo DiCaprio and many others. “I put my heart and soul into decorating this place that I love,” wrote Erté whose manuscript is displayed at the entrance. Half a century later and Raspoutine is still setting the beat of the city’s nightlife, while also leaving its mark on many other projects...

INTRODUCTION

Taken over in 2010 by the NOCTIS Group, chaired by Laurent de GOURCUFF and assisted by Benjamin CASSAN (a famous host on the Parisian night scene), the Raspoutine in Paris has evolved but still kept its soul and exclusive charac-ter. It’s been a successful transformation. Since opening six years ago, the private club has won over a demanding yet loyal clientèle, both Parisian and international. Ghislain ALEXANDER and Logan MAGGIO have joined the venture and become the new Tsars of the Russian firm. The two new business partners and friends immediately fell in love with this atypical place.

Their goal? To take Raspoutine beyond Paris... thanks to partnerships with the world’s most elite clubs, in London, Milan and New York, clubs with the same vision. Their dream? To develop this famous brand abroad. It was worth the risk, with ope-nings in Rome (spring 2016) and Marrakech (December 2016). Six years after its conversion, the legendary Russian firm lives on even stronger and is developing overseas. “Long live Raspoutine”, as Erté wrote.

THE RESURRECTION OF RASPOUTINE

Laurent de GOURCUFFA pioneer in organising parties in his younger days, in the 90’s he decided to found a group that holds several establishments that, each in its own way, has a story to tell and a universe to share. Later, Laurent de Gourcuff showed his entrepreneurial spirit by expanding into new areas such as events and restaurants, and bringing them all into one, single holding: NOCTIS Group.

Ghislain ALEXANDER & Logan MAGGIOThe duo brought a new international dimension to the Raspoutine. For almost 10 years they have been responsible for the success of many other establishments. Recently, they acquired the Ginger, an Asian fusion restaurant in Paris.

Benjamin CASSANBenjamin is the founding partner and artistic director of the Raspoutine and of two successful Parisian restaurants; Monsieur Bleu and Loulou. He also has different catering projects set up in Brazil, Ukraine and Georgia.

THE PARTNERS

What is hiding inside the Raspoutine? The face of the mystical monk, drawn by Erté, observes the insiders as they squeeze into number 58, rue de Bassano which backs onto the Champs-Elysées. Once past the door, the soft lighting sets the tone. Walk surreptitiously down the velvet stairs, as if entering a warm house in winter, and find yourself captivated by all the details: tables, stained-glass windows, embroidered fabrics, antique chandeliers, and wooden sculp-tures. A second corridor leads to the main, scarlet room. It’s impossible not to be come over by the chic and festive atmosphere. Mixologists concoct personalised cocktails for customers to guarantee the night is fully charged.

Such alchemy is possible thanks to the “specialist” music for which the club is famous. Deep House is the captivating signature genre of the Raspoutine. The sets are spun by the capital’s talented resident DJs Michael Créange and Fabrice Dayan. These electro wizards certainly know how to create a steamy atmosphere. Other illustrious guests to hit the turn tables include Agoria, Guy Gerber, Black Coffee, Mirco Loco and Luciano, and many more.

The Raspoutine is an exclusive and discreet place. These days, it’s not uncommon to bump in to people like Madonna, Olivier Rousteing, Carine Roitfeld, Ana Beatriz Barros or even Rihanna. Several private events are organised throughout the year. The former cabaret also hosts the top parties during Fashion Week.

THE MOST BEAUTIFULOF PARISIAN NIGHTS

In 2015, the Raspoutine partners were contacted by the owner of the Palazzo Dama hotel in Rome who, on the verge of opening, decided to add a prestigious nightclub to the establishment.

The luxury hotel, a true gem just a stone’s throw away from the Piazza del Popolo, was the ideal place to adopt the typical warm lighting, magnificent chandeliers and velour and brass details of the Raspoutine, creating a playful contrast between the purity of 19th century architecture and the elegant transgression of the club. Raspoutine Rome has enjoyed tremendous success and is becoming the leading club among the golden Roman and international youth.

RASPOUTINE ROME

RASPOUTINE MARRAKECH

Following on from Paris and Rome, the most popular Parisian club is opening its third location in the heart of the famous red city: MARRAKECH. The four associates decided to open the Raspoutine Marrakech between the exuberant Medina and the remote Palmeraie. They chose the Hivernage district of Marrakech, an area home to all the luxury brands and grand hotels (such as La Mamounia, and the Sofitel).

As far as decoration goes, the traditional codes of the Parisian club have been followed to the letter; a warm, regal ambiance with its famous red velour-covered alcoves, walls adorned with fabric, majestic chandeliers and wolfskin-covered furniture. The Raspoutine’s success, Parisian party scene and its music have thus moved to the heart of Medina.The host of the new location is none other than Youssef GOURAD, the most Parisian of all Moroccans, who will reign over this third palace in true Tsar fashion.

The Raspoutine Marrakech fully intends to become the chicest, most elegant and most exclusive club in Marrakech.
