A national fertilizer limited is a fully owned government of Indiaundertaking and wasset up on 23 august, 1974.

NFL isa multi unit, multi Product Company and is one of the

Indias largest producers of nitrogenous fertilizer with a marketshare of 15%.

Incorporated in 1974, to set up two fertilizer plantsat Bathinda(Punjab)and Panipat ( Haryana).

The company hasan installed capacity of 32.31 lakh MT ofnitrogenous fertilizer UREA.

NFLs two popular brandsare kisan urea & kisan khad.

BATHINDA UNIT of NATIONAL FERTILIZERS LIMITED issituated in Bathinda Distt. OfPunjabstate. Unit issituated 8 kmsaway from Bathinda city, on sibin road.Bathindaas one of the sites for fuel oil based plant wasbasically chosen fromconsumption point of view. The following factors were considered in view of Indiawhile selecting the site at Bathinda:-

Availability of land

Steady power supply in the vicinity of project.

Availability of good quality water from the sirhind canal.

Bathinda town being conjuction of Punjab, Haryana & Rajasthan and all stateshaving potential for fertilizer consumption.
