The Introduction to Engineering Construction (ITEC) Programme is a one year course and will give the selected young people the relevant skills, knowledge and health and safety awareness required to prepare them for working in the engineering construction sector.
INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING (ITEC) PROGRAMME
WHAT IT COVERS
The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) and The Engineering College are working in partnership to offer an excellent opportunity for students who wish to pursue a career within the Engineering Construction Industry.
Our ITEC Programme runs for an academic year for three days a week. While in centre, students will do 10 weeks of practical study in:
General Health & SafetyBasic power tools/ hand toolsCutting and shapingGas CuttingPlatingTurning / MillingMMA
Students will also work towards achieving a Level 3 City & Guilds 2850 Diploma in Engineering.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Individuals must meet the following requirements to be accepted onto an ITEC programme.
• GCSE A*-C grades in Maths and English
PROGRESSION ROUTES
There is a potential for students to progress onto an Apprenticeship upon completion of their programme
