God’s Ways“Filling Up Empty Lives”

• Not to be filled with evil (sinful) things.

Acts 5:1-11; Rom. 1:29-32; James 3:16

• But be filled with the Spirit of God.

Ephesians 5:15-18; 3:19

• Filling Up Evolving Lives to be rooted,

built up and established in Christ. Col. 2:7

The Need For FUEL

• Man uses and needs FUEL or Power.

– Need the Alternate (Spiritual) forms of FUEL!

– Seeking the Spiritual Fuels first ensures the

physical blessings. Mt. 6:25-34

– Must invest in them all through time and efforts.

• Need the gathering and input. “Gas cap off”

– Hindrances:

• Distractions… Mark 4:18-19; James 1:21

• Heart not open… Mt. 13:15; Rev. 3:20; John 7:17

• Sin blockades… Ps. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2; Rom. 3:23

Types of Spiritual FuelFellowship, Unite, Encourage, Lead

• Fellowship is one of those types you cannot

do alone. Hebrews 10:23-25

– It requires unity of brethren. 1 Cor.1:9-10;

Ephesians 4:1-6

– United in the Word which brings us together.

1 Corinthians 12:13-14

– Encouraged by the things we do together.

Colossians 3:16

– Lead others to a closer relationship.1Tim. 4:15-16

Types of Spiritual Fuel

• Prayer, whether alone or by group is a fuel.

– Taps the eternal resources of God. Matthew 7:7;

Heb. 4:16

– Seeks to communicate with God and works for His

purposes to go forward. Col. 1:9-ff

– Touches others through God’s power.

1 Timothy 2:1-2

– It helps us to be filled with good things.

Philippians 1:9-11


• The Study of God’s Word is a fuel.

– The knowledge and understanding of it gives

us ALL THINGS that pertain to life and

godliness. 2 Peter 1:2-4

– The inspired Word of God is our TEXTBOOK

for life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

– It motivates us to fulfill our whole duty of fearing

God and keeping His commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:13

– It is the Word of Life! John 6:63,68; Phil.2:16


• Waiting for the Lord is a fuel. Ps.107:9

• As we wait and hope in Him and His

promises we are given encouragement and

help to keep us going. Ps. 25:21; 27:14;

62:5; Isa. 40:31

• Helps our patience. Ps. 37:7; Lam. 3:25-26

• Enables us not to be ashamed but live right.

Ps. 69:6; 119:116

Faith Unleashed in Everyday Life• In the end using forms of spiritual fuels will

help us use these precious resources

properly so that we will be energized to

have our faith unleashed in everyday life,

and will result in good mental, physical, and

spiritual health.
