The kids and their teachers from Spain, France, Romania and Germany arrived in

Ioannina. The Spanish team arrived by plane at about 8:30 pm, while the other teams got

here by bus at about 7:30 pm.The students, parents and teachers were

waiting for their guests with a giant smile on their face and a card with their name on it.

We had been looking forward to that day for a long time!

On Friday the welcoming ceremony took place in our school. We played greek songs

and there were presentations for each country that took part in the program.

We played games so we got to know the foreign people better.

day!

We had a meeting at our school so that we could decide the logo of the program. Finally, we chose

the logo that the Spanish team had prepared. After deciding on the logo, the Spanish students

presented the results of the “Survey” about eating habits, and then the students from Greece

presented our country and the town of Ioannina. After that the students formed four teams in order to prepare for the “City Game”. After that, we were

allowed to leave the school.

We were met early the morning at the Archeological Museum of Ioannina where we had the opportunity to admire the exhibits.

Then, it was time for the “City game of Ioannina”. The students were divided into four

groups, which were named after greek gods and goddesses; “Athena”, “Aphrodite”, “Zeus” and

“Hephaestus”. Each group took a small tour around Ioannina, starting from the

Archaeological Museum.

DAY 3

Three Greek students stood near well-known monuments of Ioannina –six stops in total-and, when a group arrived, they gave them

information about the monument. After that, the group had to answer a question about the monument and, if the answer was right, the

three students gave them a piece of a puzzle. It was an exciting experience!

The cycling around the lake was cancelled because of the wet weather. The students with their guest did all kinds of interesting

things. Some of them visited the island and saw Ali Pasha's museum,

tasted fried frog legs and baklava (very tasty!) and bought souvenirs.

Some students went on excursions to nearby places, such as Igoumenitsa. They played with the water, shells, ate in a fish

restaurant and then returned home. Some students also went to a village called “Ligiades”, which has

a wonderful view of the city of Ioannina and the lake. Other students went to the Perama Cave and to the “Vrellis Wax

Museum”.

In the afternoon we returned to school and took part in the “goodbye” activity in which we wrote postcards to send to our

friends from the other countries.Later we attended an excellent pantomime performance and after that it was time for out farewell party with a lot of music and dancing! We had an amazing time there, we danced, ate
