SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE – field tests! Sensitivity, LDL, and TEMP effects

• Two measurement techniques were used to determine the following information.

• First, temperature calibration measurements were performed. These measurements determined temp comp, sensitivity, drift, cross sensitivity, and noise (related to ldl) in ppm.

• Second, validation measurements were used to determine linearity at selected temperatures. These validation measurements included repeated exposures to determine accuracy.

• The following is the range of 10 minute sigma (noise) in ppb for the sensors. • LDL IN OUR LAB – results are a range because they are system dependent!

• OZONE: from 0.9 to 12.0 ppb (system dependent lower detection limits) • NO2: from 1.3 to 10.5 ppb • CO: from 41 to 124 ppb • H2S: 3.5 ppb to 55 ppb • SO2: 9.4 to 38 ppb

Tiny SPEC O3 and NO2 Sensors vs FRA • SCAQ reports both O3 and NO2 as parts per hundred

million (pphm) with a resolution of 0.1 pphm (1 ppb). • for example .01 ppm = 1 pphm = 10 ppb

• SPEC O3 and NO2 sensors have known cross sensitivity. • When analyzing the data, we look at the linear

combination of O3 and NO2. • No cross sensitivity filtering algorithms were used. • Atmospheric O3 and NO2 are linear inverses;
