.Proposal Customization In this chatper, we will help you customize the proposal into your customer’s needs. Previous chapter helps you understand what functions are needed in each application. We will start to build-up the proposal details in this chapter. There are three steps to build up a proposal

A. Understanding the building blocks B. Selecting devices for each building blocks C. Connect with network

A-1 Understanding the building blocks We can divide the IP surveillance system into 3 building blocks. It works as below

- Imaging block

This is where the images are captured. The captured images can be transferred to be recorded or live viewed via network.

- Storage block

Page 26: IP Surveillance Proposal Guide - ACTi guide_Beta_0.… · This IP Surveillance Proposal guide is to help you propose to your customer. ... B-1 Management ... Hotel / Buildings

[Support Package]

Page 27

In this block, images are stored without being monitored. Images stored can be playback in the future. Storage device also can send live streaming for Management software to preview.

- Monitoring block This is for monitoring one channel at a time without doing any recording.

- Management block This is for multi-channel monitoring together with recording. You can also manage your system by events, schedule, motion detection. When there’s an event, you can search the recording and playback the recording to event tracking.

B-1 Selecting the devices for each block - Imaging block

In this block, we would recommend you to select IP camera according to your needs. Because the imaging device selection is subject to each application, please refer to the [Product Selection Guide] for a general idea. For detailed selection, please refer to the [IP surveillance deployment guide].

- Storage block

In storage block, please select according to the Storage Capacity. 1~16CH: Streaming Activator (version 1.37.xx and above) 16CH~64CH: NVR (version 1.0 and above) Both software can store images and send to remote device for monitoring and playback.

- Monitoring block For monitoring, you can use Internet Explorer to preview the images anywhere with network connection to the IP surveillance system. Note: The version of the Internet Explorer should comply to the IP camera and video

server’s software requirements.

- Management block In this block, we select the management software by channel capacity. 1~16CH: Streaming Activator (with version 1.37.xx and above) 16~64CH: Streaming Activator (with version 1.40.xx and above)

C-1 Connect with network - Local Area Network or via Internet

If the device can’t be reached by direct network (ex: viewing a camera at USA from Japan), we have to use Internet connection. If the device is all within the same building,

Page 27: IP Surveillance Proposal Guide - ACTi guide_Beta_0.… · This IP Surveillance Proposal guide is to help you propose to your customer. ... B-1 Management ... Hotel / Buildings

[Support Package]

Page 28

then we can use Local Area network.

- Direct cable connection or wireless connection When the device can’t be reached by network cabling or is it not economical to

connect via direct network cabling, we can try to use the wireless connection.

.Appendix In this chatper, we will help you customize the proposal into your customer’s needs. Previous chapter helps you understand what functions are needed in each application. We will start to build-up the proposal details in this chapter. There are three steps to build up a proposal

A. 1.36.03.06 (activator roadmap and function comparison), added as appendix—only concerned issue.Selecting devices for each building blocks. As roadmap from Frank.Li and Juber.

B. Add streaming activator (recording function and streaming out engine). C. Add network calculation table, storage calculation, CPU testing as appendix D. Add vertical (such from IMS report)

D-1 Understanding the building blocks We can divide the IP surveillance system into 3 building blocks. It works as below
