• Purchase hand held tablets to input data onsite. • Train staff in applications available to quickly and accurately input data.• Reduce time staff is away from students for data implementation. • Improve ability to target groups of students needing additional support

or re-teaching. • Reduce non-student contact time for report preparation.

Objective – Provide a cost effective solution to administering RTI studio, Standards Based Report Cards, and Infinite Campus Data Collection.

Proposal – Utilize provided data warehousing tools accurately and fully without taking away time with students.

3

1 Standards Based Report Cards – Currently in pilot phase with one teacher per school per grade level utilizing the new grading system for their class.

2 Roll out of Standards Based Report Cards due to begin district wide fall 2012.

3 Proposed Issues – Parents lack understanding of what expected outcomes should look like.

4 Increased need for documentation leads to teachers needing more time to look at student work and assess needs for future lessons.

5 Point of contact assessment removes the lag time between finding issues with children’s understanding and implementing strategies to improve student learning.

6 Point of contact assessment allows for greater home/school connection about student’s learning through online report applications.

1 Teachers need data to support each of the content boxes for each trimester.

2 IPad Innovation would allow teachers to document evidence at the point of instruction and work application.

This is an example of the page created for one student needing specific academic remediation. Having this information accessible and being able to make immediate documented notes could be imperative to her ability to meet benchmark growth.

Our district currently owns and is in the process of training staff to correctly use this system.

1 Budget Items based on standard tablet pricing with IPad 2 base product – 16GB / w/o 3G. Purchased through Apple, hardware is entitled to 10% educational discount.

2 By adding the 3G, units would have access to the internet without being linked into the school network system or having to install WIFI.

3 For an additional $132.99 per unit, they would have accidental damage coverage for three years.

1 With this proposed timeline, the IPads would be available for teachers to begin using at the start of the 2012 school year.

2 The need for follow up teacher discussion a month or so after implementation is also provided in this scheduled timeline.
