The company started as S.I.L.A. (Società Italiana Laminazione Alluminio) in Alessandria.It produced aluminium sheets, circles and foils

The first S.I.L.A. packaging was aluminium-paper for chewingum wrapping

1950s

S.I.L.A. became part of Pechiney (France)

1960s

S.I.L.A. started the processed cheese foil production

The company became part of Comital Group joining with Ariflex (Akerlund and Rausing Italian Flexible), another italian converter located in Milan

1980s

S.I.L.A. and Ariflex merged and the production was located in Alessandria dowtown plant

1990s

Production was transferred in the current Spinetta Marengo plant

2012

Ariflex S.p.A. was bought by VI-MA Holding

2015

Laminazione Sottile Group acquires Ariflex

The company’s name changes into IPS Ariflex (Industrial Packaging Solutions Ariflex)
