Key Benefits Customers realize several business benefits from IPS Controller: • Provides single-screen
visibility into the health of the IPS infrastructure as part of a complete IPS centralized management system
• Configures security
infrastructure end-to-end or in user-defined groups rather than as individual product “silos”
• Reduces time spent
managing and configuring IPS units, allowing valuable security personnel time to perform more critical tasks
Top Layer’s IPS 5500 family of network intrusion prevention systems (IPS) are targeted for medium to large enterprises, service providers, and governments. As such, the typical deployment consists of numerous devices installed in high-availability ProtectionCluster™ configurations and in geographically diverse locations. A critical requirement of these multiple-device deployments is the ability to configure and manage devices from a central location. This data sheet outlines Top Layer’s multi-IPS 5500 configuration software, IPS Controller. IPS Controller is part of Top Layer’s centralized management solution. IPS Controller Overview Top Layer’s IPS controller configuration tool is offered as a software solution. The IPS Controller maintains secure connections to the IPS devices it is managing. The administrator interacts with the IPS Controller remotely via GUI using a Java Web Start application that works in a similar fashion to the IPS 5500 device manager.
