The “Ruff Zone” just outside the pupil border. This is called the nutritional field – when there are disturbances and discolourations – look for “Enzyme Deficiency.” All these patients tested with deficiencies in digestive enzymes – whether or not we checked the patient’s ‘Health Appraisal Questionnaire’ or tested them Electrodermally. (These other checks confirmed deficiencies in all patients.) Yellow Colours in the Nutritional Field Recommend Ultra Inflamase or Executive Digestive See plates LE01; LE06; LE07;. “Problems with Protein Digestion” which may contribute to a general under-function of the kidneys and potential problems in uric acid metabolism. Orange Colours (including flashes of colour) Recommend Genuine N.Zimes #10 or Executive Digestive See plates LE01; LE05; LE06; LE12; LE14; LE15; LE21. Indicates lack of Pancreatic enzyme production – and when on the outside of the Ruff border and into the Ciliary zone indicates blood sugar fluctuations due to poor control of insulin secretions from the pancreas. A common colour seen in the Pancreatic area is orange which may be dark orange to dark brown, red-orange, red-brown and occasionally a pancreatic sign is also violet in colour. An ochre-yellow ring surrounding the Ruff Zone indicates that these patients have reduced ability to digest protein and often may have to avoid animal protein as in red meats. Brown Colours in the Nutritional Field Recommend Executive Digestive See plates LE02; LE03; LE04; LE24. Poor bile salt production and poor digestion of fats. Heavy brown pigment, often inherited, also indicates problems caused by liver under-function. Red Colours Recommend Genuine N.Zimes #10 or Executive Digestive See plates LE12; LE13. Weakness in pituitary gland – wide range of hormonal issues. NB: The digestive secretions of the Stomach & Pancreas are under neural and hormonal control.

This sign shows a lack of gastric juice secretion from the mucus membranes of the stomach. Look for dark shades which appear like a shadow around the pupil border. These swellings in the inner ring of the Ruff Zone indicates either gastritis or a sensitivity to cold foods. This sign can indicate a lack of gastric juice secretion from the mucus membranes of the stomach. _______________________________________ When discussing disorders of the gastrointestinal tract through the iris, there are three important features to look for: colour, fibre type and the ruff / nutritional zones. In some cases all three of these iris signs are involved in the analysis. Use Fungal / Plant Derived Enzymes; recommended long term to improve and repair these conditions provided the correct diet is adhered to. Avoid drinking with meals, eating on the run etc. Blood Type Eating Pattern and / or food combining may be helpful. Remember: Poorly digested proteins will putrefy, carbohydrates will ferment, and fats will be-

come rancid. Please be aware that although certain herbs will stimulate stomach & pancreatic secretions, it

has been well understood that if the digestive organs are exhausted of enzymes (for any number of reasons) the use of herbs will be far less effective in elevating the levels of digestive

enzymes. Supplemental enzymes especially from a fungal source in this instance are far superior.
