1.  Open the Server Manager and select Manage -> Add Roles and Features 

2.  Enable the iSCSI Target server as mentioned below:

3.  Go to Server Manager -> File and Storage Services -> iSCSI. In the TASKS drop down select New

iSCSI Virtual Disk

4.  Select the Server and Select the Storage location and click Browse

5.  Browse and select the folder, where the VHD file get created

6.  Verify the path and click Next

7.  Input the iSCSI Virtual Disk Name and click Next 

8.  Input the Size and click Next

9.  You can associate the VHD to Existing iSCSI Target (or) Create a New iSCSI target. Click next to

continue.

12. Click Yes to start the iSCSI initiator service

13. Go to the Tools and click the iSCSI Initiators as mentioned above in step-11.

a.  Select the Discovery tab and click Discovery Portal. Input the IP address 

of the iSCSI Target machine as mentioned above in step-XX

14.  In the iSCSI Target when you click Add, we can see the iSCSI initiator is discovered and select the

same and click ok.

15. Verify the Initiator and select Next to continue.

16. For security purpose, enable CHAP.

17. Confirm the Summary and click Create

18. Click close, iSCSI virtual disk was created successfully.

19.  In the iSCSI Initiator, run through the following steps.

a.  Go to the Targets tab, select Refresh. This will discover the iSCSI target. And display the

status as Inactive.

b.  Click Connect, verify the target name and click Ok.

c.  The status of the discovered target changes from Inactive to Connected.

d.  Click Ok. Using Server Manager,

20. Using Server Manger we can see the iSCSI virtual disk is showing as offline. Bring it on-line and

create a Volume and use the same.

21. For creating a 2-Node Cluster (Node-1 and Node-2). Where Storage is available in machine

“Storage-Comp”. Run through the following configuration.

a.  Enable iSCSI Initiator in Node-1 and in the discover portal, provide the IP address of the

machine Storage-Comp as Target Server.

b.  Enable iSCSI Initiator in Node-2 and in the discover portal, provide the IP address of the

machine Storage-Comp as Target Server.

c.  Enable the iSCSI target as defined in above steps in Storage-Comp and create VDS device.

d.  In the above step-15, add both the node-1 and node-2 as initiator. Through this you share

the VDS \ disk between Node-1 and Node-2. Further the procedure remains the same.
