The International Sustainable Energy Development

Center has been established and carries out its business as

provided by the Agreement made by and between the

Russian Government and UNESCO in September 2008.

ISEDC acts as a Category II Center under the auspices

of UNESCO.

ISEDC is an international platform promoting highly

intensive scientific cooperation for a wide range of

energy issues involving a considerable number of experts

and researchers.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The implementation of the Fellowships Programme for specialists from developing countries and

countries in transition on the basis of Russian universities.

ACTIVITIES

FUTURE PLANS

Intensification of the joint educational activities of UNESCO – ISEDC by

increasing the number of participants in fellowships programmes and their

geographic expansion.

The main emphasis is being put on the relevance of renewable energy sector’s aspects, enhancing

cooperation for sustainable energy development and strengthening of the international human resources

capacity in the energy sector.

PUBLISHING

ISEDC publishes the Energy Bulletin (15 editions) and White Paper (2 volumes) which

specify the results of unique analytical work carried out by the leading international researchers in a

number of the most topical energy issues.

FUTURE PLANS

The third volume of the White Paper and further editions of the

Energy Bulletin are being prepared for publication

ISEDC publishing projects are well known in UNESCO Member States, many international

organizations, news agencies and industry providers. The White Paper and Energy Bulletin are present

in most international libraries. The materials published by ISEDC are referred to by participants of the

highest level international conferences.

In 2012-2013 ISEDC continued its active

pursuance of all operations, a fact recognized both

by UNESCO executives and representatives of the

global society (a number of the leading companies

and organisations).

ISEDC celebrated its 5th anniversary on

September 5, 2013. ISEDC’s activities are gaining

momentum continuously and becoming more

advanced and future-oriented in all fields.

SUMMARY

UNESCO executives consistently

express their willingness to support

ISEDC’s projects and promote

cooperation, to ensure that ISEDC

remains well place to achieve a

conceptually new status and

qualification, thus allowing it to pursue

large-scale and ambitions plans.
