TRANSCRIPT
God has richly blessed the Smiths. We were able to find housing and able to move in and get started.
What a blessing you are to us! Everyone has been helpful and encouraging. We are blessed to be among you and to work with you. I have met with our committees and the staff at First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi and we are
already moving forward.
Thank you for the fantastic reception and the love and support that you have extended to us.
Yours in Christ,
John John John John

“what if?” What if you had the “perfect” life? What if God had other plans? In the tradition of It’s A Wonderful Life and The Family Man , the
movie What If? tells the story of Ben Walker (played by Kevin Sorbo), a high-powered businessman given a glimpse into what his life would
look like had he followed his true calling to be a pastor and marry his college sweetheart. Also starring
John Ratzenberger and Kristy Swanson.
Terry Teykl has spent his life encouraging and teaching the local church how to develop a passionate and meaningful relationship with the Father. His warm humorous style makes Terry one of the most sought-after speakers and seminar leaders in the country.
Terry has authored an entire line of prayer resources that make it possible for leaders at the local level to build prayer into the everyday life their congregations. The hallmark of a Teykl presentation is a deep abiding love and passion for those who are yet to know Jesus.

Beach Cleanup Program Beach Cleanup Program -- Many Good Things To Report! Many Good Things To Report!
On July 8, Kathy Sanders, Betty Workman and Stan and Diane Gierhan passed out trash bags to holiday beachgoers. Again, it was fun to meet the people and everyone was happy to see us. It's surprising how many people get to the beach with all their “stuff” and then realize they don't have a trash bag!
Thanks to Betty Workman, our excellent photographer, "The Island Moon" newspaper ran some pictures we submitted from the weekend in the July 12th issue and editor Dale Rankin even gave recognition to Island in the Son UMC in his column. The church is gaining positive recognition on The Island, thus achieving part of our overall goal for the program.
Additional good news to report is that Island Presbyterian Church is planning to adopt a portion of the beach and is in the process of organizing their volunteers. Also, through a grant, the Nueces County Coastal Parks department has given us 60 free T-shirts to give to program participants. The shirts are bright yellow with a picture of a turtle and his tracks (see picture at right). The wording is: “Don't Trash Our Beaches - Leave Only Footprints.”
As always, the daily beach walks continue and it appears we are making a difference. We are gratefully being good stewards of God's gift of the beach and its beauty. See you on the beach!
