Make A Difference . .
Feeling the chill of cool evenings and crisp mornings remind us that fall is in the air. You can already see the leaves just be-ginning to change colors, reminding us of how we have four dis-tinct seasons. For a lot of families this is a time for heading to that favorite pumpkin patch and picking out the right pumpkin for decorating or carving that jack-o-lantern. Then there's the corn maze and haunted houses that are also associated with this time of year.
I'm looking forward to Holiday Market this week!! It is a great time meet people and tell them about Junior League and what our market helps to support. I want to thank our Holiday Market Committee for all your hard work this year. You all have worked long hours, planning, fundraising, and brainstorming to make our market a success. And to all our members, a big thank you for stepping up to work extra shifts where needed, pitching in, and selling tickets. Thank you to our sustainers, who have met weekly, are preparing meals, and are working our Cookbook booth, we couldn't have done it without you.
Go Pink! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, with the entire month being dedicated to spotlighting pre-vention, education, and finding a cure. It's amazing how compa-nies and organizations step up to increase awareness of the dis-ease. Some have put out pink ribbons, pink lighting, even football teams take the challenge and wear pink gloves, shoes, etc. You can even find our cheerleaders and dance teams shaking pink poms. There are fundraiser's held and companies encouraging employees to wear pink by designating a pink day. By raising awareness this is a reminder to all women to get your mammo-gram.
As a reminder, our GMM has been changed to October 23.
Sincerely,
Sharon Duncan
JLK President 2012-13
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.

Holiday Market 2012
From Holiday Market Committee Co-Chars—
Get Your Jingle On! It is Holiday Market Time.
The Holiday Market Committee has been hard at work this sum-
mer getting everything ready to go. We have many new and ex-
citing vendors as well as many repeat vendors. Ladies Night at the Market is
promising to be a fun-filled evening for you and your friends. Friday we are plan-
ning to have an event during the day to help fundraise and to draw a larger crowd
during the day. So many fun and exciting opportunities to have a great time while
helping our community (and working on your Christmas shopping list!).
We are all so very excited about this year’s Holiday Market, and we are looking
forward to working with everyone to make this year incredibly successful. Thank
you for your support. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call Julie’s
cell at 865-207-3031 or email [email protected].

your needs and comfort zone
· The format is question and answer and you will not be expected to “make a pres-
entation”
· We will discuss the interview information prior to going on air
· You will not be asked any questions that are controversial or uncomfortable to an-
swer
· Two people may interview if so desired
· Be familiar with the information you need to share
· You may wish to bring a list of points to cover
· If you would be more comfortable answering questions you have composed, I will
be happy to work with your script
· If you are discussing a fundraiser, share where the proceeds will be designated
· Be familiar with general information of JLK
· Share a phone number for additional information
· Share a web site address if appropriate
This is a casual, friendly show and hopefully an experience you will enjoy as you
