Meet our Former Student

Age: 25

Former High School:Tottington High School

Bury College Student: 2010 - 2012

Bury College Qualifications:Level 3 BTEC Music Diploma

What happened when you leftBury College?During 2013-2016 I studied a Songwriting Degree at BIMM, an award winning UK Music University. Studying this degree allowed me to gain the knowledge, skills and experience to then progress my career within a competitive industry. I was delighted to achieve a 2:1 BA Hons degree.

What are you up to now? After graduating in 2016, my career reached a new high after I was picked up on Spotify by London based record producers, The Animal Farm. I went on to record and release four singles and now regularly gig to live audiences.

Tell us about your proudest momentto date? One of my singles Coward was featured on the Ladies of Country TV Show on Sky’s Keep it Country TV. In December 2018, they aired a special New Year programme and played a number of songs which they considered to be their highlights of the year. My song was narrowed down to appear within the top 6 and I was so proud to be featured amongst famous country singers.

List three words that sums up your Bury College experience?Supportive, fun and collaborative.

The advice I would give to future Bury College students would be:If you have a passion or an interest in something then college is the best way to help you achieve your long-term career goal.

An exceptionally talented singer-songwriter has put her career centre stage as she impresses live audiences gigging across the nation.

Meet Charlotte Kinsella, a former Bury College Music superstar student and rising Country star.

What I took away from my Bury College experience…• My confidence really improved which helps me when I am performing

• I became more independent which supported my transition to university

• I learnt how to network with different musicians allowing me to maximise different opportunities
