On June 1, 1973, Gladston Mealor opened Plumbing Distributors, Inc. just northeast of Atlantain Gwinnett County, Georgia. Glad and his son, Sidney, manned the small business which offeredcounter sales and delivery.

The original location was a 3000 sq ft building at the corner of Buford Drive and Born Streetin Lawrenceville. Shortly after opening, it was obvious that additional space was needed. Overthe next few years, two more buildings for warehouse and office were added on that same pieceof property. Parking became chaotic – customers sometimes had to wait for us to unload a truckbefore they could enter our parking lot! Aided by a booming Gwinnett County, PDI soon becameone of the leading plumbing wholesalers in metropolitan Atlanta.

Realizing PDI had outgrown its facilities, a new 40,000 sq ftwarehouse and office was built and opened in 1984 on CollinsIndustrial Way in Lawrenceville. The warehouse and officesseem cavernous when we first moved in, but in no time at allit was filled with inventory and employees.
