How is the opening going at Mabuti?

Mabuti Mauritius is a Mauritian owned company specialized in artisanal cakes and has breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea options on its menu. During the lockdown, we carried out numerous deliveries and offered a takeaway service. As people were not allowed to leave their homes, we delivered around the island for EID and Mother’s Day. Although these two

campaigns were successful, post COVID19, the situation is not as it was before. We have had to adapt to new demands and changing trends. We were already paying great attention to health and safety measures, but have now further strengthened them.

We have gone online to reach a greater number of clients who are choosing for now not come to the restaurant. We therefore deliver our finest coffee, juices, milkshakes, cakes, crepes, waffles, salads and sandwiches across the island.

We had a soft opening after the end of the lockdown. Things are slowly getting better as an increasing number of people are returning to their places of work. It is worth noting that our staff members are working hard and assisting in each and every department to ensure the longevity of our company.

Every Thursday as a gesture towards the community, we are donating meals to the unfortunate. Putting a smile on people’s faces. We know and understand that life is not the same as it used to be a few months ago. Together as a community we shall be ONE.

What are the specialties & delicacies you are proposing to your clients these days?

Currently our Red Velvet is the best seller and has received great client reviews.

It is on special at Rs 1000 instead of Rs 1500 (for 8 people) for the month of June 2020.

We also have a Birthday Celebration deal that is running from June to August 2020. It includes four different kinds of cakes, the Ferrero Cake, the Coffee Cake, the Pop Cake and the Almond Cake. The deal also includes two bottles of our finest Zari Sparkling Non Alcoholic Drink.

Just last week, we launched a pizza selection at Yaziq. A must try! The pizzas are available in two sizes (25 cm and 35 cm).

Our menus have been redesigned with the addition of gourmet burgers and we plan to add other specialties soon.

What message you wish to convey to your customers?

We would like to reassure our customers about dining in at our outlets. We are committed to following all sanitary procedures to ensure their safety. Meals are being prepared under the strict supervision of our Executive Chef. We would like to welcome our customers back again and offer our five star service as before. Things are not the same but we have adapted. We encourage everyone to support local producers, restaurants and Made in Mauritius products. In this way, we can strive to pave the way to success again.
