First Presbyterian Church of Glassboro, through the grace of God, has been

impacting people’s lives in the community of Glassboro and beyond for one

hundred and forty-nine years.

We feed people through 3rd M. E. A.L., a free meal offered by the church to

low income or no income folks. The invitation extends to seniors, low-income as

well as neighbors in the community. We have volunteer opportunities to help

serve the meal, act as hosts to our guests and with clean up after.

The Donation Garden has supplied, on average one thousand pounds of fresh,

organic vegetables to the Samaritan Food Pantry in Glassboro. This garden on

church property has been maintained and expanded by church members,

community members, certified gardeners and Rowans students for the three

years it has been in existence. Volunteer opportunities include weeding,

harvesting at appropriate times, planting a winter crop and prepping beds in

the spring.

We provide housing for homeless families through Family Promise of Gloucester

County (Interfaith Hospitality Network). We help homeless families get back on

their feet by supplying a hot meal and a safe place to sleep while they receive

the assistance they need through programs and case management. Along

with other churches, synagogues and organizations, we take a turn in offering

space for families four times a year. Volunteer opportunities include cooking a

meal for the families for one evening during their week stay, acting as hosts for

an evening and staying overnight with the families. Training is required and provided.
