• Why did we bother?• Demand came from the ground up• Microsoft’s public folder plans• Pilot hardware purchased about a year
and a half ago• Pilot began just over a year ago• Grew thanks to word of mouth

• There is no good reason to have a decentralized model*
• An enterprise’s goal shouldn’t be to decentralize
• That doesn’t mean there are no reasons a department would want or need their own

• FREE!!!• If you have a site in our environment, this is what you
have.• Site collection with an unlimited number of sub sites.• Default quota of 5GB which can be increased to 10GB if
necessary.• Housed on our main SQL Cluster.• No Custom Code beyond what you can do out of the box
or with SharePoint Designer

• It isn’t available yet but will be soon.• 100GB quota per site collection.
This is a hard limit due to SharePoint and SQL limitations
• There will be a charge for this similar to the disk costs in the Intelligent Infrastructure
• No Custom Code beyond what you can do out of the box or with SharePoint Designer
