iVend Mobile works in two modes

Online Mode: In the online mode, the handheld device is connected in real time to the Store or HO server either over a WiFi connection or over the internet via 3G. In the online mode the transaction validations like – special pricing, promotions, coupon based discounts get applied in real time with updated values. The transactions done at the mobile POS are also synchronized with the store server or the HO server in real time. Whereas the updates from iVend Enterprise to iVend Mobile get synchronized at the defined frequency.

Offline Mode: To operate in the offline mode, the device maintains a local copy of the transactions. These transactions get synchronized with the store server or the HO server whenever the connectivity is available and the synchronization is either scheduled manually or automatically at the pre-scheduled time.

How does it work?iVend Mobile is made available from the Apple App Store or Google Play and gets installed on the mobile device like any other App. The configuration settings which include setup of the peripherals, preferred language, printers, etc. are done on the handheld device. User can either specify a fixed time during the day when the synchronization is to be executed OR the user can specify the synchronization frequency at which the transactional data from iVend Mobile will get synchronized to the iVend Server.
