An international retailer with a revenue

stream of over €2 billion per year

Stockmann

Stockmann, established in 1862, is a Finnish listed company engaged in

the retail trade. It currently has 500 stores in 18 countries. Ixonos helped

Stockmann to better support their ‘Crazy Days’ sales with a bespoke

e-commerce cloud solution enabling in tens of transactions per second.

The extreme scalability provided by the Ixonos Cloud™ platform ensured

that the store runs flawlessly, enabling tens of transactions per second.

Al JazeeraWe have helped concept and build the all-digital News Network, AJ+,

aimed at Generation C and in particular the 18 to 34 year old Millennials.

It is a mobile first service for an audience that is connected all the time,

to devices and the social networks.

of storytelling with cards

∕ video: emphasis on video supported by concise contextual

∕ dialogue: a format that encourages comment, interaction and

A patented Android Multi-Windows™ solution

Samsung SuperAppTM

Ixonos has implemented its patented Android Multi-Windows™ solution

into the Samsung Galaxy PRO Series tablets. The project included User

Experience Design but this was primarily a technical implementation

to integrate the solution into Samsung’s own proprietary platform. The

project required many bespoke modifications to the Android framework

to allow users to toggle between functions and apps, view multiple

windows and enable true multi-tasking.

Multi-task features

∕ rolled out as the main KSP in 2014 hero devices like the Galaxy Tab

Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Tab S,

∕ this feature was the highlight and theme for Samsungs advertising

and was used heavily to differentiate their offering from Apple

The joy of creation meets the future of interaction

HP SproutSPROUT is HP’s new creative Desktop Computer. It enables users to

seamlessly interact with physical objects and digital content, streamlining

the creative process.

SPROUT features a touch mat and touch screen. The ‘Sprout Illuminator’

at the top, both captures and projects objects on the touch mat.

SPROUT is the innovative result of an intensive collaboration with HP.

Ixonos has done UX Design, Usability Testing, Visual Design, Web &

Soſtware Development, Demo Creation, Marketing Videos, User Guides

and developed Apps for Sprout.

Multi-task features

∕ tactile, joyful creative space with 23-inch Full HD touchscreen & a

20-point capacitive Touch Mat with a projected display

∕ the ability to scan objects, documents and photos directly from

the Touchpad, then modify and edit them in the intuitive Sprout

workspace

∕ Sprout’s Workspace software runs alongside Windows, and intuitive

interactions are backed by flawless, seamless performance

Positioning Honda as the forerunner in IVI

Honda Head Unit UIHonda has launched a new Android-based head unit that secures its

position as the forerunner in IVI* technology. Ixonos created the brand

design and user experience and delivered the technology. For fast and

reliable delivery, the App Center was built using of Ixonos’ own patented

technologies: the Ixonos Experience Store for Automotive™ and our

virtual private cloud platform, Ixonos Cloud™.

The store functions as a channel for distributing certified in-car

applications and services designed according to non-distraction

guidelines developed by Ixonos from industry body guidelines and

Honda’s own non-distraction research. This will be a standard feature on

all new Honda vehicles sold across Europe starting in 2015.

Multi-screen TV solution

A multi-screen fully branded TV solution for Asia’s top TV service

provider. Taking their brand to the next level, Ixonos designed the entire

user experience across all major form factors to bring their content to

countless millions and offering unprecendented levels of engagement.

This solution fully embraced social media, cloud services, VOD, Catch-

Up TV and supported multi-user accounts for a fully personalised UI.

Viking LineViking Line are a leading Scandinavian cruise-ferries operator. In 2015

Viking Line embarked on a brave journey towards digitalising the cruise

experience. Ixonos has been Viking Lines digital partner in designing

and implementing the multi-channel digital experience on-board their

seven ships. Services delivered by Ixonos include digital strategy

consulting, concept design, service design, user experience design,

software development, business analytics and continuous services.

Multi-screen TV solution

EricssonA multi-screen white-lable TV solution for a major blue-chip technology

company, enabling their customers (TV service providers) to deliver

content to any screen or form factor, on any network, out of one

cohesive solution. A completely new visual language was established to

make the best use of ‘flat design’ principles and to allow the rich visual

TV content to shine through.

Ixonos developed a road-map with the customer ro pave the way for

a truly integrated solution with enhanced user experience design,

visual design and a proof of concept to demonstrate the finer details of

interaction design, transitions, use cases and journeys.

Award winning OS

LG Web OSIxonos played a key role in the latest version of HP’s award-winning

operating system, webOS. Five Ixonos technical teams were involved at

different layers of the webOS stack.

“ …there was a lot to like about WebOS back when it ran on

smartphones, but we were a bit skeptical about how it would fair in a

smart TV. After all, smart TV user interfaces are almost universally bad.

Not this time”.

Animal Planet RussiaA cross-platform and fully scalable visual design solution that runs on a

variety of different form factors and in strict accrodance with the Animal

Planet Development Framework. Ixonos worked closely with Discovery

to support their development teams by producing the graphical assets

needed to deliver a truly responsive solution.

Emotion UX

SamsungIxonos worked with Samsung to create innovative, next-generation ways

of communicating with smartphones - beyond standard SMS text and

picture messaging. We developed the creative concept, visual design

language and fully functional prototype. The result is an innovative and

personalised way for people to communicate - Empathy Wave.

Empathy Wave is a new communication paradigm that provides a more

intimate experience of communicating with a loved one. This concept is

a shift in thinking and creates new ways to interact, communicate and

feel through digital technology, using various GUI metaphors.

∕ any number of Empathy Wave themes/ metaphors can be used

∕ Empathy Wave is an open eco-system, supporting 3rd-party

submissions for the market place

∕ no need to launch an app - it works from a phone’s lock-screen for

National GeographicAn application taking the classic 640 page bird book and re-imagining

it for the digital age. This is an innovative, beautiful, and interactive field

guide to the birds of North America. New innovative features taking bird

watching to a new level, including new innovations around image based

search and social sharing capabilities. It makes spotting, identifying,

and understanding birds easier than ever before. From its detailed

illustrations to its easy-to-use interface, this is the one-stop resource for

any avid bird watcher.

LazyTown: AirShip Challenge Pro

Turner EntertainmentLazyTown is an entertainment television show, dedicated to promoting

positive lifestyles for children. LazyTown inspires children all around the

world to eat well and stay active by providing them with entertainment

that is inspiring, creative, fun and energetic.

Ixonos and LazyTown have collaborated to devise and launch a pay-to-

download version of AirShip Challenge. Our starting point was to make

use of the graphically rich nature of LazyTown brand assets. LazyTown

has a very distinct brand footprint and our aim was to stay as true to

this as possible, so that kids can immediately recognise and associate

with it. Our challenge was to create a game that carried the Lazy Town

brand message and met the needs of the target audience, through a

challenging game with a global leaderboard.

∕ a flight simulation game using accelerometer and gyroscope

smartphone technology

∕ a time trial activity to navigate the sky

∕ zap free falling fruit to accumulate points

∕ avoid the sweets and candy that come hurtling toward the ship - a

direct hit reduces the clock and deducts points

∕ 6 levels of varying difficulty, where each time trial speeds up with

more dangers to avoid

∕ advanced levels give the added incentive to find and zap bonus

points and time extensions

∕ a global leaderboard pits users against eachother
