The report presents various activities that were implemented in JKC College during theacademic year 2010-‘11. The IQAC wing chalked out a successful plan of action to ensurae qualityeducation.

Part - A
The Departments of English, Commerce and Computer Science will conduct add-onprogrammes (Value Addition Programmes) of 30-45 days duration.
Feed-back was collected to upgrade the performance of teachers and other supportingservices.
1 Activities Reflecting the Goals and Objectives of the Institution
To promote literacy, the institution encourages the weaker communities in perusingeducation with moderate fee structure. Students belonging to SC /ST /BC and listedminorities who are below the poverty line are provided with financial aid by way ofscholarships.
Endowment Scholarships instituted by various philanthropists and old students areawarded every year as per the stipulated norms set by the respective trusts /individuals to the eligible students.

Field Trips:
Zoology
A field trip was conducted for III B.Sc. (CBZ) students on 22-09-2010 under the leadership ofMrs K Saroja, lecturer in Zoology. They visited Aqua Farms at Nidubrolu and Harbour atNizampatnam, Guntur District. The objective of this trip was to study fishponds, hatcheries,to observe capture fisheries and different types of crafts and gears and also to collectvarious species of fish and fauna.

Days of importance were observed by the staff and students of UG and PGdepartments. (Annexure-II)
Guest Lectures were arranged at UG and PG level with eminent Resource Persons.(Annexure-III)
Special emphasis is laid on Communication Skills, Career Guidance and CampusInterviews. Community service is recommended in co-ordinate with NGOs’.

A Questionnaire was prepared to collect feedback from academic peers, and students oncurriculum development. The proposals were discussed thoroughly at department meetings,staff council and a detailed report was submitted by the Principal to the Management forthe follow-up.

Semester System is in practice for degree students with 20 percent internal evaluation and80 percent external evaluation.
Semester System is in practice for all PG programmes.
Examination Pattern is streamlined in the college by regular class tests, monthlytests, and model examinations. Marks obtained by the students were displayed onnotice boards of the respective departments and the students who were belowaverage were offered remedial coaching. To sum it up, CIE (Continuous InternalEvaluation) has been made more responsive to measure the academic achievementof students.

SPIC MACAY
Hindustani Classical Guitar Concert by Dr Kamala Shankar from Delhi performed Lecturecum demo programme in 2010. 150 Students attended the programme.
Carnatic Vocal Concert, lecture cum demo programme by the famous Bombay Sisters, Smt.C. Lalitha and Smt C. Saroja from Chennai was performed in 2010. 126 students attendedthe programme.
Sattriya Dance by Guru Sri Ghakanta Borah from Guwahathi performed. Barbayan, a lecturecum demo programme was performed in 2011. 143 students attended the programme.
NCC
Our NCC has been outstanding for the last many years. It has won many unique distinctionsbesides sending its cadets to the prestigious Republic Day parade and representing thePrime Minister contingent in Delhi and Mountaineering camps.
Our NCC cadets have conducted Anti-Drug awareness rally from DM and HO office toCollectrate in Guntur on 26-06-2010.
Six cadets have participated in Army attachment camp held at Hyderabad from 13-07-2010to 31-07-2010.

Our cadets have conducted Tree plantation programme on 25-08-2010 at Dr. KondaboluBasavapunnaiah Ashrayamu,Guntur.
JUO. Ch. Harshavardhan of II B.Sc. Roll No.153 is the one and only cadet who got selectedfor AP Directorate to attend the Basic mountaineering course held at Manali, HimachalPradesh from 01-10-2010 to 26-10-2010 and he climbed Shithidhar peak of altitude 15,500ft. Indeed, It was a great achievement.

Due to cyclone in August, 2010 a huge tree was uprooted causing inconvenience to thetraffic at Arundelpet. The tree was erected by our college students on 08-08-2010 with thehelp of Environment Protection Cell in Guntur.
On 24-09-2010 about 75 students of our college participated in cleaning the surroundingareas of the Koretapadu Pond and walking track which was full of thorns and weeds.
The Eco-club conducted elocution competition on Conservation of Energy on the occasion ofEnergy Conservation Week from 14th December, 2010 to 21st December, 2010. The APPollution Control Board director distributed the prizes to the winners of competition.

Talent Circle
In the year 2010 -11 Talent Circle conducted classes on every Saturday from 2.00 pm to3.30pm with a view to enhance the general knowledge of our students. 40 studentsparticipated in different programmes. Mr I Hatti took initiative in conducting theprogrammes.

Appropriate remedial steps are initiated as per the suggestions ofthe parents

Dr Sudha , doctor and Mr Sadasiva Rao, RMP look after the health of our students. Freemedicines are given to the needy. The lady doctor monitors the medical camps regularly onour college campus.

Eenadu Champions Cricket Cup
Our college Intermediate Boys Cricket Team emerged as winners at District and Regionallevel. They played upto semifinals at State level competition. Our college Degree boy’scricket team were winners at District and Regional level. They participated at the state level.
Chandus’ Cup Cricket TournamentWe have been organizing Chandus’ Cricket Tournament for AP college teachers for the last16 years in memory of late J.Chandramouli garu, the founder president and his grandsonlate master J.Chandramouli. This year 16th tournament was organized from 26-01-2011 to31-01-2011. 22 teams were registered and 19 teams participated in the tournament.
The winners of the tournament belong to S.K.B.R.College, Amalapuram. The runners of theteam belong to KKR and KSR Institute of Technology & Sciences, Vinjanampadu.

Our career Guidance and the placement Cell have done an outstanding job. Hundreds ofstudents were trained in soft skills, interview skills and were prepared for the CampusSelections. A stupendous number of students were selected by corporate giants. By this ourstudents are infused with optimum and it has given them confidence for their rosy future. 14Companies conducted campus interviews and 65 students got jobs from JKC and 65 studentswere selected from other colleges.

Mr P Gopichand and Ms P Nagasuseela conducted summer camp of 40 days Grammar,Communication Skills and Phonetics and Personality Development .
On 02-07-2010 a Workshop on Classroom Conversations was conducted, 350 studentsattended the workshop. Resource persons, Mr P Gopichand and Ms P Nagasuseeladistributed a specially designed card for ready reference to all the participants.
A Workshop on Creative Writing was organized to 600 students on 23-07-2010 by theDepartment of English at our college auditorium. Resource persons, Mr P Gopichand andMs P Nagasuseela published a book entitled Sprouts to Enhance Creative Abilities among theStudents.

State level Elocution on Ragging was conducted by the Department of English on 22-07-2010. 56 students from various colleges throughout the state participated. A post card anda poster on Ragging was released and distributed.
An International Poetry Fest 2010 was organized by the Department of English on 21-12-2010 at our college auditorium. A collection of poems entitled Poets’ Paradise was releasedby our President Dr K Basavapunnaiah and e-version of the same book was released by Sir JNarendranath, our Secretary and Correspondent on this occasion.
Departments of UG and PG English organized UGC Sponsored National Seminar on Method,Material and Techniques of Teaching English Language on 24th and 25th of June, 2010 andthe 55th All Indian English Teachers Conference on 10th to 12th January, 2011.

Our career Guidance and the Placement Cell have done an outstanding job. Hundreds ofstudents were trained in soft skills, interview skills and were prepared for the Campus Selections. Astupendous number of students were selected by corporate giants. By this our students are infused
