HistoryThe Jamaica Youth Theatre was formed in 2004 as the performing arm of the Schools’ Drama Festival of

Jamaica.

Thirty talented young people ages 13 to 20 recruited from several secondary schools all over Jamaica, each with a burning passion for theatre – this is the future of Jamaican theatre, this is Jamaica Youth

Theatre. JYT specializes in bringing classic West Indian plays to the Jamaican stage in a professional and entertaining way.
