Edwards Elementary School is to provide authentic, challenging, creative learning experiences in a supportive and engaging environment in order to develop global leaders with strong character, ready to serve their communities. School Category: The school has a focus or theme. Most constituent magnets have defined attendance zones. Additional seats are allocated to students living outside the attendance zone but within the constituent district. Transportation is provided to all students attending Constituent Magnets and living within that Constituent District. Constituent Magnet (D2) Grades Offered: JBE Application Priorities (in order): 1. Student living in school enrollment zone 2. Student living in Constituent District 2 who has a sibling currently attending James B. Edwards 3. Multiple siblings applying and living in Constituent District 2 (If one is accepted, the next sibling is given priority) 4. Student of CCSD employee living in Constituent District 2 5. Student living in Constituent District 2 6. Student of CCSD employee living out of Constituent District 2 and in Charleston County 7. Student living out of Constituent District 2 and in Charleston County 8. Student of CCSD employee living out of Charleston County but eligible to attend CCSD magnet/choice schools 9. Student living out of Charleston County but eligible to attend CCSD magnet/choice schools K - 5 Charleston County School District is required by federal and state laws, executive orders, rules and regulations not to discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, disability, sex, age, national origin, immigrant status or English-speaking status, or marital status. The board commits the district to nondiscrimination in all its education and employment activities and in all its dealings with the community.
