PROCESS:I started by making sketches of ideas for the layout. I used a large font in
the title to catch the viewers eye, the black bars on the left are meant to guid the v iewe rs e ye d own to th e co py. I too k gr eat c are to ma ke

layout with original photo.

PROCESS:The objective of this project was to learn basic photography skills, pick
an appropriate color scheme and then incorporate them into thelayout. I used a photo that I took of my youngest daughter. I then
studied the colors in the photo to determine which color scheme would best compliment the photo for my lay out. I decided on a
monochrome color scheme using the gold colors in her hair. Iopened the photo in Photoshop and used levels, sharpness,
Vibrance, and selective color to edit my photo.
MESSAGE:The message is designed to inspire people to look at
the bright side of things, hoping the colors would be harmonious and soothing.

DESCRIPTION:Matching letterhead and business card designed using a personally created logo.
PROGRAMS: Adobe Illustrator
DATE COMPLETED: January 27, 2016
COURSE /INSTRUCTOR : Visual Media/Sara Tranberg
PROCESS:I created the logo using Adobe Illustrator. I rst used the ellipse tool to
make one circle and one oval, I then joined the two create the body. AfterI made the body I used the pen tool to create the legs. I made one side
then mirrored them for the other side. Once I had the bug I copiedand rotated them. Buy using guide lines, I created the background
of the logo and placed the three bugs on top to complete thelogo. I made the letter head rst and experimented with many
different placements of the logo, after much deliberationI decided on the upper right. I used a background of a
picture of granite for the horizontal bars, then droppedthe opacity to 33%
MESSAGE:The message is satirical in nature, and is a tongue
in cheek poke at lawyers.

PROCESS:For my business card I started with a 3.5 x 2 inch art board, then built the image onto
it, using repetition to make the two feel like they belong together. I chose gray scalebecause I wanted to project simple yet classic, and I used the granite background
to impart the idea of strength.
MESSAGE:The message is satirical in nature, and is a tongue in cheek poke
at lawyers.

PROCESS: Adobe Photoshop was the program I used to create this montage. I started
by gathering the photos I was going to use. I used the bookshelves asa background, and added a layer for each of the other elements and
used a mask to soften the edges so they transition from one imageto the other without any edges. I used a a gradient to fade the
bookshelves to white and then added the quote over the white. Imuted the background (the bookcase) so that the foreground
would stand out more.
MESSAGE:I was trying to convey the idea that even though schoolcan be difcult, it is an opportunity for growth in
character as well as intellect.

PROCESS: Word, PhotoShop I scanned the photo of the gears and the baseball. At
rst I just put title over the photo in red, but I felt that it did not showup well, so I added the white stroke to make the words pop. All the
colors I used where pulled from the scanned photos. The logo wasmade by tracing my hand and my sons hand, I scanned it in then
manipulated it in Photoshop
MESSAGE:Charity baseball game to raise money, I was hoping they
would see it as a fun time for the family.

DESCRIPTION: A three sided (trifold) folding brochure.

PROCESS:I created a new logo in adobe Illustrator, I made different versions so I
would have a choice as my design progressed. After completing mylogos I converted them to outlines and saved them to my project folder.
The images where all my original photos that I opened in adobePhotoshop, and using the selection tool, I removed the background
and tried them the way I wanted. I then saved them to my projectfolder. I places the images and the logo into Indesign, I aligned
the wording on the front so that when the front was cut thetwo half’s would line up properly. I placed my inside copy
into the document, then used text wrap to make it follow
the conture of the images.
MESSAGE:That this establishment is professional andcrative. Also to encourage people to come to
this business and buy a cake.
