PriyaRanjan along with Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Jammu, Dr. Rajan Sharma and Sub Di- visional Agriculture Officer Marh Dr. Ashwani Kumar Jojra reviewed the Status of prestigious flagship project of Government of India, Na- tional Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC) at Bhalwal here today. Dr. Vandana Kotwal AEO Bhalwal, welcomed the team on behalf of the zonal staff by presenting bouquets and briefed the team about the project. The team visited the dif- ferent villages of the block Bhalwal covered under NAFCC Project. The visiting team inspected different works executed under the project like Vermicompost units, Borewells, Dairies units etc The team also inspected under construction Soil Testing laboratory being set up under the NAFCC Pro- ject at Bhalwal . On comple- tion, this laboratory will fa- cilitate the soil testing process in block Bhalwal, block Mathwar and sub di- vision Akhnoor and almost 10-15 thousands Farming Families will be directly benefitted from this Soil Testing Laboratory. Meanwhile visiting team also inspected the commu- nity Borewell at Village Marjali, which is catering to irrigation requirement of al- most 50-60 families. The team also interacted with the concerned PRI's who applauded the role of Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in dis- semination of latest farming technologies & motivating the farmers to adopt of use- ful innovations for mitiga- tion of adverse affects of Climate Change on crop production . NABARD DDM reviews status of NAFCC Project Bhalwal HIMALAYAN MAIL NEWS JAMMU, JULY 24 One day e-training pro- gramme on extension teaching methods for tech- nology transfer for the ex- tension functionaries of Agriculture Production and Farmers' Welfare Depart- ment Doda was today con- ducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda through Google meet. The pro- gramme was conducted un- der the guidance of Dr J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu and was organized by the team of sci- entists of KVK Doda headed by Dr S.K. Gupta Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. 38 Agriculture Ex- tension functionaries from different zones of District Doda attended the pro- gramme through virtual mode. The programme started with welcome address by Dr AS Charak Senior Scientist & Head KVK Doda. Dr Narinder Paul, Scientist KVK Doda gave a detailed presentation on the differ- ent extension approaches for effective execution of the extension work and smooth implementation of the vari- ous famer development and promotional schemes. These approaches, he said have great impact on the overall efforts of the exten- sion professionals to achieve the objectives of the schemes not only to in- crease the productivity but also farmers income. A group discussion was also held on techniques of various individual, group and mass extension contact methods pertinent to the farmers' innovation-deci- sion process and adopter categories. J&KITCO conducted its 126th Board Meeting HIMALAYAN MAIL NEWS JAMMU, JULY 24 Continuing its endeavour to provide financial support to the officers and personnel of J&K police in need, the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare loan/ re- lief of over Rupees 1.61 crore vide Police headquarters’ order No.2200 of 2021. The amount has been sanc- tioned out of the Central Po- lice Welfare Fund. Under this order the fi- nancial assistance has been sanctioned in favour of 169 officers and personnel of the J&K Police. Rupees 43 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 48 police person- nel for self-treatment and treatment of their depen- dents. Similarly, Rupees one lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 104 police personnel to meet the expenses of their own mar- riage, and marriage of their sons/daughters. Eight po- lice personnel have been provided welfare loan for higher education of their wards. Rupees 1.5 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of three police personnel for circumcision and Akhand Path of their wards. Under this order, Rupees 2.60 lakh as welfare relief has been also sanctioned in favour of 14 police personnel. The welfare loan sanc- tioned to the Police person- nel is refundable and is re- covered in monthly installments from their salaries without any inter- est. However, the welfare relief provided is non-re- fundable. Police headquarters un- der different welfare schemes is providing assis- tance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of Mar- tyr police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs. Be- sides, meritorious scholar- ship for the brilliant wards of in-service police person- nel/martyred/retired police personnel/SPOs is provided to inculcate spirit of compe- tition among them. To appreciate the hardwork of a teacher, he said that the day of Guru Purnima is celebsrated on the birthday of Maharishi Ved Vyas . A teacher/ guru has a huge role to play as he is the only one who guide a person throughout their life. "A school teacher guides a person for their career while a “ guru” is even more important as he guides a person to the right way of worship which can help one attain salvation and god" he said. Dr Singh quoting Kabir ji- “Guru govid dono khade, kiske laagu paye. Balihari guru aapne, jinn govid diyo btaye.” he said that in these lines Kabir has shown that a guru should be wor- shipped before god as he is the one who enlightened you to the right worship to attain god. In other texts, he has also explained the grandeur of guru by high- lighting that a Guru should be considered equivalent to god. "The speaker of holy Geeta has also asked the people to go in the refuge of a spiritual guru who can guide to the right worship. This guru purnima let's all take a pledge to treat all our teachers with utmost re- spect which they deserve for all the selfless hardwork they putin for betterment of the society" said Dr Ajay. Continuing its endeavourto provide financial supportto the officers and personnelof J&K police in need, theDirector General of PoliceJ&K Shri Dilbag Singh hassanctioned welfare loan/ re-lief of over Rupees 1.61 crorevide Police headquarters’order No.2200 of 2021. Theamount has been sanc-tioned out of the Central Po-lice Welfare Fund.

Under this order the fi-

nancial assistance has beensanctioned in favour of 169officers and personnel of theJ&K Police. Rupees 43 lakhhas been sanctioned infavour of 48 police person-nel for self-treatment andtreatment of their depen-dents. Similarly, Rupeesone lakh each has beensanctioned in favour of 104police personnel to meet theexpenses of their own mar-riage, and marriage of theirsons/daughters. Eight po-lice personnel have beenprovided welfare loan for

higher education of theirwards. Rupees 1.5 lakh hasbeen sanctioned in favour ofthree police personnel forcircumcision and AkhandPath of their wards. Underthis order, Rupees 2.60 lakhas welfare relief has beenalso sanctioned in favour of14 police personnel.

The welfare loan sanc-tioned to the Police person-nel is refundable and is re-covered in monthlyinstallments from theirsalaries without any inter-est. However, the welfare

relief provided is non-re-fundable.

Police headquarters un-der different welfareschemes is providing assis-tance to all the ranks ofJammu and Kashmir Policeincluding the wards of Mar-tyr police personnel andwards of martyr SPOs. Be-sides, meritorious scholar-ship for the brilliant wardsof in-service police person-nel/martyred/retired policepersonnel/SPOs is providedto inculcate spirit of compe-tition among them.

webinar on Covid appropri-ate behavior as the part ofAzaadi ka Amrut MahotsavIndia @75 celebrations.

Secretary, BVM, Udham-pur, Mamchand Mittal wasthe chief guest and CulturalOfficer of DIPR Parul Kha-juria, was guest of honour inthe programme, while RenuSharma, Principal of the

School was special guest.Pratap, Daleep, Amit,

Poonam and Seema partici-pated in the programme asJudges and Susheel Kumaras coordinator.

In all 12 students spoke onthe topic. Pratibha Singhwas declared as 1st, RadhikaSharma 2nd and Deepakshi& Divyanshi shared 3rd po-

sition, while Sunaina & Vi-dant received consolationprizes in the competition.

Dr Singh while quotingthe lines of Sant, Kabir jihas beautifully elaboratedabout the importance of“Guru” in life of a personand how reading the spiri-tual books like Ved is futilewithout the guidance of aguru. To appreciate thehardwork of a teacher, hesaid that the day of GuruPurnima is celebsrated onthe birthday of MaharishiVed Vyas . A teacher/ guruhas a huge role to play as heis the only one who guide aperson throughout theirlife.

"A school teacher guides aperson for their careerwhile a “ guru” is even moreimportant as he guides aperson to the right way ofworship which can helpone attain salvation andgod" he said.

Dr Singh quoting Kabir

ji- “Guru govid dono khade,kiske laagu paye. Balihariguru aapne, jinn govid diyobtaye.” he said that in theselines Kabir has shown thata guru should be wor-shipped before god as he isthe one who enlightenedyou to the right worship toattain god. In other texts,he has also explained thegrandeur of guru by high-lighting that a Guru shouldbe considered equivalent togod.

AJKLTF celebrates Gurubandhan

NC never cared to strengthen democracy during its rule: VarinderjeetJAMMU, JULY 24: Jammu & Kashmir BJP, Vice-

President S. Varinderjeet Singh, while reacting to the state-ment of NC patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah, wherein he is mak-ing hue and cry in the name of democracy, asked him toexplain as to what steps were taken during the Chief Minis-terships of senior and junior Abdullahs to strengthendemocracy at the grassroots level in the erstwhile state ofJammu and Kashmir.

S. Varinderjeet Singh said that the NC leaders are in habitof making noise for the matters which were never in thescheme of things of the governments headed by them. Hesaid that the people are wise enough now and cannot bemisled by the dual policies of the parties like NC.

The BJP leader asked Dr. Farooq Abdullah to explainwhy 73rd and 74th Amendments were not implemented inJ&K, which were aimed at strengthening democracy by en-suring 3 tier system. He said that even elections to the UrbanLocal Bodies were never held on time during the rule of Na-tional Conference.

It is the BJP, in reality, which has always stood forstrengtheing democracy and the same is clear from the factthat election to the Panchayati Raj Institutions were heldwhen BJP came to power at the Centre.
