Cable Bridge Run VolunteerPasco Recreation is looking for volunteers for the 35th annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run! The race will be held on Saturday,

December 21, 2013, at 9 am. We need volunteers from approximately 7:15-11 am to direct runners on the course. Make the atmo-sphere entertaining and festive for the runners by participating in our costume/decoration contest for all volunteers! Wear cos-tumes, decorate your car, play music, be creative! American Red Cross Lifeguarding course will help you develop skills and experience that will be valued by colleges and future employers. It’s a great way to demonstrate what you can offer. Colleges and employers look for applicants who can deal effec-tively with people, who have a take charge attitude, and who are willing to work to develop new skills. Upon successful comple-tion of this course, you will be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for Lifeguards. Please note that passing of the LGT course does not guarantee employment. teams to the fun of scent work. Your dog already knows how to use its nose. This class helps handlers understand what they are seeing in their dog. This class is fun for all ages, breeds, and experience levels and is not only for ‘professional’ dogs. The scenting course is designed to develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt, and their love of toys, food, and exercise. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board advises the City Council and the City Manager on matters pertaining to the planning, de-velopment, improvement, beautification, equipping and maintain-ing of public parks, playgrounds, recreation facilities and resources. The council meets at 5:30 pm on the 1st Thursday of each month at Pasco City Hall, 525 N. 3rd Avenue, classroom 1.

Adopt-a-ParkThe Adopt-a-Park program provides opportunities for individuals and groups to help improve and maintain the City of Pasco's parks and trails system. The program's mission is to enhance community involvement, pride, and ownership through the general care, main-tenance, and beautification of Pasco's parks and trails.All you need to do is complete an Adopt-a-Park Application. You will then be contacted by a City of Pasco representative. If you can't make a long-term commitment, we still encourage you to volunteer! Contact us at 509-543-5757.
