My sincere thanks and appreciation is extended to, club Manager Stan Usselman, Host Chair Darrell Demick, his committee and the North Hill Curling Club for hosting this event. It takes endless hours and dedication to accomplish hosting a successful championship and I commend them on their efforts. Curlers and coaches, congratulations on qualifying for the event! The long hours at the rink practicing and playing, the travel to numerous events, and the numerous sessions with your coach, have paid off and I wish all of you the best of luck. While sport and recreation is important to overall health, the benefits go well beyond our physical and mental state. Calgary has a rich heritage of hosting sporting events, and with our winter climate, it’s also great to see events and activities that get us up and out during the chillier months.
