THE FAMILY HISTORY CONNECTION
Now that the holidays are over and winter is upon us, do you find yourself looking
for something new and exciting to do? Have you been wondering about your ancestors
and where they came from? Are you wondering how you could go about finding out
about them?
Here is a suggestion for you. Come to a Three Lakes Genealogical Society (TLGS)
meeting and meet some very nice people who would be very happy to help you find the
answers to these questions. The society meets the fourth Monday of the month at 1:00
p.m. in the lower level of the Demmer Library. Meetings generally consist of taking care
of business, a discussion of research successes and “brickwalls,” and a presentation
geared to help family history researchers find out about their ancestors. Dues are $15.00
a year for a family membership. Membership year runs from August to September.
Come join us and get hooked on your family!

‘Twas the night after Christmas, And there in my inbox,
The emails were leaping And jumping about.
The thermometer on the website
Was filling up with red, And visions of goals met
Danced in my head.
And it soon seemed without doubt, Without hesitation, or disbelief,
Our hope of raising $20,000 Was well within reach.
The donors, they were many,
The gifts were not few, And together the sum total – Well, my mind it just blew.
A whole month ahead Of the deadline we set! If somebody had asked,
I would not have taken that bet.
And so we begin This New Year with cheer,
And confidence that Our new building is near.
And because my poetry skills
Are exceptionally bad I will now end this verse by simply saying,
“I am exceedingly glad!”

A New Year - Lots to Cheer!
The Three Lakes Public Library Foundation thanks everybody who gave generously and
helped us raise more than $10,000 in December. With your help, we have earned a $10,000
match – well ahead of our January 31, 2016 deadline!
For those of you that, perhaps in the holiday rush, missed out on giving your donation, we
have an opportunity for you!
It’s time for New Year’s Resolutions, and we’re here to support you as you support us as we
work on our resolutions to give you the best library Three Lakes can offer. So, for a donation
of $25 or more in the month of January, your name will be entered into a drawing for a Fitbit
Flex plus You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Looking Good & Feeling Great by Dr.
Mehmet C. Oz and Dr. Michael F. Roizen. The drawing will be held the week of February 1,
2016. Here’s to your good health in 2016, and many thanks for your support!
