FOUNDATION CORNER The Howard-Suamico Optimist Community Foundation has donated $1,000 to the St Jude's Children's Hospital. Jeff Devroy and Bob Chambers will present that check at the Bay Park Square Mall on Thursday February 6 where Y100 radio will run a match up to and exceeding our donation to St Jude's. They will start at around noon and take call-ins "live" over the radio station for approx 5 minutes. Please tune into Y100 around that time to make your donation! Last year we
raised over $2,500 from our Foundation to St Judes. It's a great way to get our message out there and introduce others to the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club & Foundation.
Another successful year of $5,000 in donations to our Youth, thanks to the support of our
Members making considerable donations of their time and money. Any additional information needed, please contact me or Bob Chambers (our 2019/2020
Foundation Committee Chair) Thank you. Mary Joan (920) 819-2767
Most recently the Foundation received a donation from Karl Van Roy in the amount of $1,000 to support our youth. A great start for the 2020 Year! Please thank Karl when you see him for his continuous support of both our Club and Foundation. Karl was one of the Founders of the Foundation and he has served on many Committees, held several positions over the years and continues to be an "icon" in the Community!!! Thank you Karl!!!!
We have secured a date for the next Foundation Brat Fry. It will be on Saturday April 25 at Piggly Wiggly on Lineville. We will also have a bake sale that day run by some of our local youth. Please mark your calendars and dig out some old recipes for baked goods if you are unable to volunteer your time that day. We appreciate your support in many ways. If you have time to stop in for a brat or burger works just as well. It's a great time for our Members to gather at the same time.
The Foundation Committee is in the process of securing a date for the Pizza Ranch (Ashwaubenon location) Community Events nite again this Summer. More to come on that. It was a great time for all those involved last year and those Members said "Let's do it again". Have a great year and thank you for your continued support!
