yetfeelsafeattendingourmeetingsandarealwaysdiscussingcreativeoptionsforoutdoorevents.Wehaveagoodstartto2021withattendanceatmeetings,participationateventsandmanynewmembersandwouldliketohearfromyoutoknowhowwearedoinginaddressingwhatourmemberswant.WithSpringapproaching,weallwillbeeagertotakeourboatsout,sothisisagoodtimetocheckeverything.LarryFriemel’stalkonengineswasveryinformativeandyoumayalsowanttogetaVesselSafetyCheckbythePowerSquadron.Thereisnocostanduponcompletionyouwillreceiveastickertoplaceonyourboatandtheconfidencethatallsafetysystemsarereadyforanotherfunseason.SpringFlingisourbi-annualeventinwhichweinviteotheryachtclubsandmarinasalongthegulfcoasttoparticipateandwearehopingitwillbeheldagaininPortArthurthefirstweekendinMay.However,duetotherepercussionsofapandemicandstorm,theinitialdetailsthatmustbeworkedoutpriortoplanning,mayforceittobedelayed,butwewillkeepyouposted.Alongwithoureducationaltopicsandfunevents,IthinkthemostimportantthingTMCAoffersusistheabilitytoleavebehindournormalroutinesforabrieftime.It’slikeamini

Manyofuswerewithoutpowerforquitesometime,somehadbrokenpipesandwithaboilwaternotice,thingsbecameevenmoredifficult.Aftersuchevents,itisagood idea todoa lesson learnedevaluation. What thingswent well (enough blankets andwater), andwhat thingscouldbeimproved(morepowerbanksandhotchocolate!).This approach also applies to boating. Be well preparedbefore every voyage and review for improvement aftereveryvoyage.Galley,bridge,head,berths,cockpit,dinghy,etc. Anexamplewouldbetosecurea looseitemthatyounoticedwasmovingabittoomuchwhileunderway.
